Of course I'm a tourist myself when I can afford to go but I agree with his general opinion. My youngest was upset that we lost on his first trip and wanted to leave when he saw others going but he was told to stay put until the final whistle.

Nike's shoes have really gone downhill in the last few years, they've shown very little willingness to develop their lines or innovate especially when compared to Adidas who have really been putting out strong new release after strong new release and making cool steps forward in design and their technologies.

Their Vapours used to be my go to tennis shoes but they feel dog rough in comparison to the Adidas ones I've been using and that came today

NB are another company who have really stepped it up with their footwear lines as well

I've been in the lounges he's criticising with sit down silver service dinner, ex-pros speaking etc etc and I also go less upmarket and there is a difference, the former is more attraction based, almost like having a trip to a theme park or something, what I'd compare it to is F1 packages I've done where it's a bit premium and there's probably not as much edge to the support from fans

But having said that, it's the usual double edge sword with this, we need those premium packages to bring in revenue and continue to compete at the sharp end of the league, that's a simple fact because it's endemic in the PL, if not in say the BL, if we went back to a highest percentage grass roots support base we'd end up sliding down the league faster than a greased badger. So a lot of what he says is pertinent but it's also well-meant idealism and that doesn't always work in reality

 

I know what you mean, I think the lad is mainly frustrated by the lack of support and the early leavers and is venting at some things he shouldn't be, his overall point though is sound.
What the **** do you gain by leaving early?

We went for some food, chilled out and left an hour after the game.

 

90% of early leavers are old stagers not day tripers. Thry want to beat traffic or catch first taxi or whatever.

Simply put they are not having a special experence just being there.

The 10% who ought to be having a special experience but walk out are so plastic thry melt in the sun.

 

Milk its a right mes so all you can do is be there for your wife n that.

Think he should be fine. Milk seems pretty down to earth and level headed. I'm sure he will be able to support his wife and kids and educate his kids properly.

Thanks. We've only told the oldest. They weren't particulary close to their uncle (probably only seen him a dozen times on their life) so I don't think they will be too worried.

They know and like their cousins though.

Todays Rant
following my fall on Sunday was just about coping then woke up on wednesday & went "oh **** that really hurts" drgged my arse down to my GP who reckons i've probably got fracture in my shoulder & sends me to the hospital for xrays.
get there about 10 am get xrayed and they go "yep fracture top of humerous" & send me to A&E where they put me in a neck/wrist cuff but sent for OT & physios to do assesments on me due to existing conditions.i finally got home at 13.00 on Thursday .

tody had to go to fracture clinic and the result of £20 of taxi fares was some guy walking into my cubicle pulls up my x rays & tells me
quack "you've fractured your humerous"
me "i know"
quack "take about 6 weeks to heal. i'll book you back in for 3 weeks to get you re xrayed and checked over ok"
and that was it no examination , hardly glanced at me .
why they didn't just ****ing ring me instead of putting me thru all that crap i'll never know
