I consign that memory to the old Southampton FC, so it doesn't bother me. It was Lowe's era. The 2009 resurrected Saints are a beautifully clean slate.
Romeu has so far got 67% of the vote in the Echo Player of the Season. The door to the dressing room will need widening to accommodate his head soon.
Not sure if mentioned so sorry if it has. ITK on Saintsweb has said that the team has filmed an advert with the new kit this week. Wide red stripes. Collar. Away kit will please everyone. That's all he said.
I'm putting this under the title of Saints Kit Photographs You May Have Forgotten: please log in to view this image I liked Eljero Elia. Made a ManU RB look stupid in his first game, then scored two goals against Newcastle in his second. Never mind. We kick started his career again and these days he does alright at Feyenoord.
I once had dinner* with Gayle Hunnicutt, she was truly beautiful nearly as beautiful as the very lovely Mrs Godders. *I was really sat at the next table but the tables were very close.
I once sat in a compartment on a steam train from London with Sir Donald Wolfit but probably very few of you would know who I am talking about.
So do I. That superb play, The Dresser, by Ronald Harwood, was based on his experiences of being the dresser to Sir Donald Wolfit, as part of his company, as it toured the theatres of Britain. Wolfit also featured in Lawrence of Arabia, which I watched through for the very first time just a couple of weeks ago. I finally saw what all the fuss was about. As for sitting in a train compartment. I was in one with Justin Hayward on the way to Cornwall. Later on I saw him in Padstow and he did a double take. I was in a Southampton General Hospital lift with Rick Wakeman. The lift got stuck just out of line with the floor we were getting out on and he helped me lift my Mum in her wheelchair out. She said 'thank you' and he answered, 'not at all'. I whistled Roundabout as I walked away.
