...But I'll put it on here anyway. According to nufc.com we've signed 17 year old striker Jonathan "JJ" Hooper from Kent Premier League side Sevenoaks Town on a two-year deal after a successful trial (anyone who read the match programme on Saturday and noticed a goal from an "unnamed trialist" score against Annan Athletic, this is the kid)

I would love to know how on earth we came across this lad. From the other end of the country playing in such a low league. I suppose it gives me a little confidence that our scouting for youngsters isn't just restricted to the north east

"Striker Jonathan Hooper has won a two year YTS contract at Newcastle.

The 17-year old 6'1" striker was all set to be part of Darren Anslow's plans at Sevenoaks, and scored in the pre-season friendly against Stansfeld, before going to Tyneside for a two week trial.

    Anslow said:
"JJ is quick, has got a good touch, and is very athletic. He is loving it up there, and I think he is over the moon. I knew he was going, and he phoned me up this week to tell me the news. He was definitely going to be involved here.

I had him with me in the Cray Academy, and is the second boy who has never been with a professional club before and got a move."

I agree. He is quite tall.

Does anyone know what side of the family his French heritage comes from?

Must be his mothers I take it as Hooper isn't a French name. I assume he speaks fluent French.

Jonathan Hooper definitely doesn't sound French enough though....

Lets call him Jérémie-Marie-Jean Pourcel de Courtois

I just hope we spent £35m on him otherwise this can't be considered a good transfer window for us.
