Be nice to try for John Terry, but like 98% of Londoners they think outside of London is the 6th Dimension - the Outer Limits - a dark and scarey place. Terry will be off to Crystal palace Bournemouth West ham or most likely, Brighton A leader like him is what we need Berkovitch the Chelsea stand in keeper, (I'd get shot of Sels Darlow and Tim Krul and keep Elliot on) Ive read Rafa's after the Burnley keeper And I'd raid the Arsenal Chelsea and Spurs reserve and under 21s. Young Isaac's done well and Atsu's been getting better Sunderland could do a LOT worse than take on some of the lads who've contributed for us like the under-rated Murphy and others who aren't going to make the move up to Premier class
Sigurdson is probably going to go for close to 30m pounds i would think. Hopefully we can snap up some german talent.
Some of the prices for some of the players mentioned make my eyes bleed but I know its a sign of the times.
I fail to see how we wont break out own club record for Transfer fee paid this summer. Especially if Rafa wants a top striker.
Ashley is giving Rafa full control. He is desperate to keep him. Graham Carr's control has been curtailed. Oh and the Cesc Fabregas rumour? It's true Rafa wants him to boss our midfield. He is thinking big long term. He doesn't want to settle for safety. He wants top 10 next season and wants success for the fans.
Rafa may well want Fabregas. I want Fabregas, you want Fabregas, we all want Fabregas, but why is he going to leave Premier League Champions Chelsea for newly promoted Newcastle? Or if he does leave them why not one of the many, many Champions League teams that would snap him up in a heartbeat? It seems unlikely, although I like that they are thinking big. I have no doubt Rafa will be looking to be top 10; he's not the kind of manager who would settle for survival.
If the required quality is available to replace then yes. I know a lot of ours like him but I'm a bit non plussed by the guy. Lazy and very hitty missy. He's not a bad player by any stretch, but at pl level he is just ok.
Sadly Shelvey is one of those players that is too good for the Championship but not good enough for the PL.
