Only Rashford (but that transfer is done and dusted if Man Utd don't get in the CL - as everyone knows) . Anybody else from those clubs that would meet the Pochettino and Levy criteria ??
Was chatting to a mate about Walker. IF he is determined to go or IF Pochettinowants him gone I said that I would demand Jesus from City or Rashford from United in exchange as they both strengthen us and weaken them...the exact same thing that will happen to both of them. The only way I'd sell for cash only would be if he went to Barcelona. If Real want him I would try for Isco. Personally, I hope he stays as he has been outstanding over the past 2 seasons. As for Defoe...only as a squad player and maybe with a coaching role too...but that could not stop us signing another top striker imo.
Completely agree. You want Walker? Give us Jesus.....or De Bruyne.......or Sane. No cash and no credit or no deal. When they ring back, first question...."Who do we get?"........ When they say....."Well......", just put the phone down. It's not like we need to maintain good relations with them, is it?
If Levy no longer sells key players to teams who finish above Spurs in the PL, I would not hold my breath waiting for a reply if you are a team who is regularly finishing BELOW Spurs.
Given the papers were suggesting that Man Utd would bid £55m for Aguero over the weekend, suggesting a straight swap with City covering half his wages for the two years remaining on his contract seems like a fair deal...
I`ll be fuming if we sell Walker (or any other first team regular), he is the England RB and best in the league imo. Our squad lacks raw pace as it is and selling Walker would diminish that even further. We need to act like the massive club that we are, and that includes not selling key players because they have their heads turned by greedy agents etc. Surely Levy will not sell any of our players to another PL club, if any player demands to leave then sell them abroad. Also if John Stones is worth £50m then Kyle Walker must be worth the same or more.
It all depends on what the reason is for the apparent discontentment of Walker. Is it just about wages?
I think most of us agree but if (and it is only an if) Kyle Walker demands to go we have an issue. Can we keep a player who is being disruptive? My view is no. So then it is a case of what do we do. I think that going abroad is preferable as it will not strengthen others in the premier league. But if he doesn't want to go abroad we are stuck as we can not make him. Therefore to me (if he is determined to leave) we need to get a top class player in return as it will strengthen us where we are weak (up front or a Dembele type both spring to mind). To the clubs who can afford Walker (Barca, Real, Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea) £50m is nothing and we will still be weakened and looking around. My earlier post was suggesting that (if we have to sell Walker) that we demand a player we want in return. It will call the buying clubs bluff on just how much they want Walker. City do not want to lose Jesus, likewise United with Rashford etc but like I said they'll cough up £50m without blinking. Real ****ed us over with the Bale transfer in particular (selling the goons Ozil to strengthen them) so we need to insist on a player we want from them if they come in and the same with Barca or they will treat us like Real did.
Warning to Kyle : Trippier is around. You are not Modric where there really is nobody close in the squad.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a professional footballer wanting to play every week, and in particular the big games. Pochettino's team selection for the FAC semi was ridiculous. How is a top player expected to understand the wisdom of playing the formation and personnel he did ? It was an unnecessary gamble which failed. Walker has not demanded a transfer. What he did was storm into Pochettino's office and say "what the hell was that all about". I'm with the player on this one.
Walker has been unsettled. He wants to go to Citeh to double his money. That wlll have to be Der / La Citeh sadly for him.
The manager made a mistake re Wembley...so did Walker at West Ham with that performance. The manager lives and dies by his selection and tactics. Players live and die by his performance. If Pochettino needs to look at himsrlf and learn lessons (which he does imo) then so does Walker.
My opinion of Trippier has improved drastically this season, but he can't hold a candle to Kyle in any aspect of play other than delivery into the box. How anyone can see them as almost equals is baffling.
Absolutely, Trippier is only better than Walker with the final ball. Everything else, dribbling, athletism, Defending Walker outshines Trippier in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, Trippier is a handy option and could be very very good, but right now, he's not had that run to show his consistency that Walker has and is not a patch on him. Davies isn't bad either, very solid but he's not Danny Rose.
Our recent consistency has been built on the back of Toby and his understanding with Jan. Give him what he wants. When was the last era we had the meanest defence in the league?
Sell sissoko and double tobys wages .....oh wait no one will buy sissoko .on a serious note the fringe players that poch will want to move on can pay for an upgrade on tobys wages but we still need reinforcements elsewhere in the team but with all the extra tv money coming in and levy being levy I'm sure we can sort things out.
Yup you guys need to keep toby as hes the best defender at your club (arguably thr league) and a 1 of a kind. Great tackler and reader of the game and probably the best passer in that defence too. You would be stupid to lose him over wages. Isnt he also the leader in that back 2/3?. Vertogen and dier are good defenders but when toby isnt there they seen to just have a few more errors and seem a bit more panicky
