If he really did sell players just to spitefully recoup those losses, he'd be playing right into the protesters' hands. That really would flick the anger switch at Elland Road and I reckon it would drive a lot of the more passive fans to protesting and boycotting matches the season after. I'd certainly surrender my season ticket if he made a move as petty and vindictive as that, and I don't accept that the supporters should be supine and simply accept the awful way our club's run. Even if it makes no difference to who runs United, I'd rather see the fans together complaining about it than biding their time until Bates dies. Life's too short for that.

He's invested no more than 500k in the club; his financial contribution has been utterly pathetic and, frankly, a disgrace. There's no way of knowing who we want to replace him. Liverpool, Man U and Portsmouth fans didn't know who they wanted to replace their incumbents at the time they started protesting, but potential suitors materialized for them in the end. It's about getting the message out there that we really do want the club to be taken over!

are you saying if you were a builder and you were told by a corporate fat cat to build a sky scraper for his new head office, and then told you the budget won't cover any tools for you to work with, you wouldn't tell him to stick it up his ass?

I don't even care if he doesn't invest, presuming by investing 500k you mean 500k of his own money. If he doesn't want to put any of his own money into it, fine. I don't care. However, I want him to stop pissing away the clubs money on pointless projects that didn't work when he did them at Chelsea and will work less at Leeds. I want him to stop pissing about and taking fans for granted, or not even that, just outright offending the people who pay his ****ing salary. And I don't give a **** if he says he's "working for free". Even if that's technically true, it's just that - a technicality.

Good point, though you'd also want him to find investors if he himself couldn't stump up for Elland Road and Thorp Arch (as he promised he would) but he keeps hiding behind the credit rating as an excuse. He should get off his arse and source some funding because otherwise, we're going to end up training in a field outside some secondary school in Wetherby and the playing squad will continue to deteriorate while his lego project expands. I blame him for both.

End up ground sharing with Farsley Celtic.

Claridge is going to be on the business end of some abuse during tomorrow's radio Bates interview with our notorious chairman.
