Apparently we're after Tom Heaton. Hard to believe unless we're playing Gayle up top and 10 GK's all just milling around our box. oh, and its a SUN exclusive
If we can offload Sels AND Krul then I'd be very happy with Heaton. At the moment though Darlow, Elliot, Sels, Krul, Alnwick, Woodman + more keepers does feel like overkill. Last year he did surprise everyone by buying a keeper first though!
Yeh think I'd offload Darlow and Krul, keep Elliot to Duke it out with Heaton. To me Elliot is Prem material, not so sure on Darlow
We've been linked to Sandro Ramírez in the news again, he looks like he's got good feet, can pass, shoot, dribble past players with ease and also takes a lovely free-kick. As he's still only 21 he'd be a bargain if we can activate his £5 mill release clause...
And most importantly he has a YouTube video If that is transferrable to Premier Level then he looks like the type of player we are after for number the 10 role. Looks to be very busy, pacy and skilful. An attacking midfield trio of Townsend, this guy and Ritchie will have opposition defenders in a cold sweat. Slight problem in that it said in the video that Man Utd, Liverpool and Southampton are all interested.
It'll probably be someone like Maguire or Shawcross in to strengthen at CB (£10m-£15m). James McCarthy for the combative CM role (£20m). Townsend for the wing (£13m if release clause is accurate). Then just need a specialist no10 and a striker to complete critical strengthening. After that a specialist LW, Dummett competition at LB, someone defensively solid at RB and a ball playing CM (upgrade on Shelvey) would all be gratefully received.
What about Charlie Taylor on a free from Leeds for a left back. Helps keep our budget intact somewhat? Aden Flint the Bristol centre back looks to have good leadership qualities. They would be two I'd have a serious look at.
Somethings afoot with Charlie Taylor. He refused to play for Gary Monk yesterday and he wants out. The fact they cant go up means either a team going up or already in the PL is in contact with his agent. Maybe his also fed up of the bad ref's, Prutton's sh!tty predictions and Don Goodmans biased commentary, can't really blame the lad.
Yeah both have impressed. I like Mawson. Of the teams near the bottom, him, Gibson and Maguire would all look to be better than the team around them. Sigurdsson would obviously be perfect but realistically I think we'd be well down his list of options this summer.
