Clyne never opened his body once. I watched cm with nobody challenging them roll it to cbs to carry forward rather than go try make things happen.

I saw full backs fail to stay wide, I saw origi hiding 90% of game.

I even saw him deliberately tangle with nearest defender to avoid closing down the ball.

Said on your board given you guys had nothin got play for, thought you might come and have a go a bit. You made Mourinho look like an attacking coach! We were **** and creates nothing, both teams contributed to a game that will live long in the memories of no one.

Typical the **** forster that saves nothing makes one decent save from a pen <doh>

The annoying part was there were 3 times I counted where saints were attacking, we won ball back in our own half and I think it was Matip on one, Lucas and Can on other two that got the ball, and took about 4 touches, looked sidewards and passed back or sidewards slowly to allow all the saints players to get back into position. We didn't have many chances to counter but when they came we didn't bother to even try!

Yeah I'll take the point but although well organised we were no where near our best today. Maybe could have nicked a win if we were.

Like you say though, game won't live long in memory and just happy to forget about it and move on tbh.

You totally have our bunny this season. Thanks for what you said about the pen , but try telling that to our two local bitters, Tobes and the other one. We got what we deserved today, and we'll done for flying the flag of integrity in the league - unlike Palace!

We were so slow going forward it allowed Saints to get back in formation.

Clear that if were going to get anything we had to draw at least one of the middle three out of position to free up space for Couts.
There was one in the 2nd half where Romeu got into our box for an attack, had the ball taken off him, looked ****ed because of all the work he'd done in the game and struggling to get back and we were so slow to attack he had time to stroll back into his position on top of the D in front of the back line.

We need to start counter attacking more, faster release from Migs and the CB's and get players running at the opposition.
Also don't get why Lallana didn't start, only 3 games left (before today) what are we saving him for? And think this was the perfect game for Studge to start, as it was clear Soton weren't going to do much attacking.

At least we're not as ****e as the mancs, you've got to be spectacularly appalling to get spanked by that Arsenal side

Think we're one of the slowest teams in the league actually, the lack of quickness is astounding

Without Mane We're like a relay team of three quadriplegic and Usain Bolt, but Bolt can't run because he's a Manc ****.

Ah well, onwards and upwards. Hammers away next Sunday, maybe that's the problem our team is too religious so will not work on Sundays!

I hope Saints defend as stoically against the gunners midweek.

If they take anything of them, it's all to play for this weekend.

Indeed. They wanted him to stay but he wanted game time. Milner has done a good job for us this year. One penalty miss doesn't change that.

How many games per season does a player have to produce something for it to be called "form" and not just a good game?

Milner is a consistent 7/10 over for most of his games. I feel sorry for the guy being put at full back on the wrong side but he still never lets you down.
I used to watch him at City in what an oldie like me would call an "Inside right" position, the amount of goals he was directly involved in with Silva and Zabaleta was incredible (the stats won't show the likes of Jimmy and Astro this though).
Use him right and get the best out of Firmino.

if you read this you'd think we were Middlesbrough and were fighting relegation. we are third in the league and are fighting to stay there. is isn't the Spanish or German league where there is only 1 or 2 teams that will fight every game, in this league every game is up for grabs. look at Sunderland yesterday. sometimes we win sometimes we don't. the squad is thin but nothing is going to change till the summer so 2 games left to fight for the best position we can. and saying this player or that player is **** is not only not helpful but ****ing tedious.
