Southampton need to turn up against Arsenal....if they take points off them and Utd drop more against Spurs and a win against the hammers will be all we'll need. Trouble is, we aren't making this easy. Just hope the hammers play football on their last home game....
If Milner had scored that penalty we would almost have guaranteed top 4. We would have been on 72 with 2 matches to play, the mancs on 65 with 3 matches to play and Arsenal on 63 with 4 matches. Which means we only needed ONE win to be absolutely certain and probably less as they have difficult matches too. Not wanting to cry over spilt milk but that could be a very costly miss in the light of the United defeat fingers crossed it may not matter in the end.

City will pip you to 3rd but you'll finish 4th imo, Arsenal have left themselves with too much to do.
Maybe not, but we won't be getting 6 points from West Ham and Middlesborough either. I think it will go down to the last day.
If they got 4 points from those 2 aways, you'd only need 3 points to secure it, due to your better GD.
It's funny that things are not what they seem at the time. Yesterday we (including me) all wanted Arsenal to beat the mancs. The thinking was that this may eliminate the mancs from the 4th spot race or at least reduce their threat. But in fact thinking about it, it turns out that an Arsenal win is the worst thing that could happen for us. Why? because Arsenal losing would have practically eliminated THEM from the race as the gap with 4th would have been too much to catch up. The mancs would still have that difficult match against Spurs and would probably lose. A draw even better keeps both at arms length. With an Arsenal win, they are now back in the race. A slip and potentially they are in should they win their matches. The mancs are no worse off than with a draw and nothing has changed from their point of view. They still need a win at Spurs. This is an incredible race. It seems no one wants that 4th place. In December/January it was a given and yet here we are biting our nails. How did we put ourselves in this position with our run in?
4th usually ends up about 70 odd points so i dunno where this nobody wants 4th muck cones from... some pundit threw it out sunday but the reality is lfc lost mane and fell apart and lost 3rd... they are like a hurdler who tripped on the last hurdle and are stumbling acrosd the line hoping for the bronze. We are trying our best.... its just weak as ****.
Southampton V Arsenal tonight. Arsenal have not beaten Southampton (on Southampton ground) since 2004
