Watching Sam Gallagher putting in a decent shift on sky sports 5, instead of dull sky analysis

Redmond was our best player vs Liverpool away semi final, so a bit odd that one. JWP will play on the right probably so it will be him vs Milner.

Rest of the team picks itself, I hope the midfield play as well as they did in that semi second leg.

Redders to come off the bench against tired legs... if we can tire them....

He needs game time and he looked like the only player who was going to do something against Hull.

If u call beating a man twice not crossing it , trying to beat the man again and then losing it " looking like doing something " then ok. The guy is a frustrating liability.

Boufal is still young and having his first season in the EPL....makes sense to give him game time when we have nothing to win or lose (apart from league places)

Claude is thinking about next season in these last games it seems. Makes sense. He's not starting "ahead of Redmond" - we've nothing left to play for so he's trying to give our record signing some free minutes in this league.

Oh don't even go there , Boufal is not on the same planet as ronaldo , even at that age. Boufal is 24 in a few months , he's hardly a kid anymore.

I do agree on the first point - but then very few are.

Only way we're going to really know what we have here though is by playing the guy - and now the season is effectively over for us, we have a free pass to do so. I can absolutely see the sense in that, tough though it is on Redmond.

Boufal has the potential to be the unpredictable attacking midfielder who can create goals from nothing that we've lacked for years.

Currently he often looks on a different wavelength from his teammates, that will only change with game-time. I've no issue with him being given that time in these games that don't really matter so much at the end of this season. Shame for Redmond, but it's a busy week coming up, I'm sure there'll be a different 3 in each game

Funnily enough, the fact he's doing this kind of thing makes me think we'll be seeing him in charge next season. If he was seriously under threat, I wonder if he'd be playing SB over Nathan.

No he isn't but he can still learn when to use his skill and when to pass etc in the same way ronaldo did after being in England a while. He does need game time in order to settle in and, as our season is effectively over, it makes sense to play him now whilst results aren't that important.

Tadic should be dropped for Redmond imo.

He's frustrating because you can see he has the talent there to be a big player, but he just doesn't do the simple things . The step overs are all well and good but do the basics first. You get the opportunity to put a ball into the box you do it in this league. Watch sane for man city , beats a player and bang in it goes. Simple football but effective, Boufal is the opposite at the moment, complicated football and ineffective.

I don't believe he is under threat....mixed bag this season, but a long way from being sackably poor.
