As impressive as Winks has been this season, he isn't a player who can grab games by the scruff of the neck like Dembele can - and with Moose turning thirty this summer, this is another reason why we need to be looking for someone who can fulfill his role.

Unless we see The FA relaxing their rules about daughters of former goalkeepers playing...

Ross Barkley doesn't make the XI for Everton today. That may well be that for his career there. Citeh will probably offer him double what we might (if we want him) and he can join Delph on the bench and looking backwards on his international career.

Currently he's heading down the Jack Wilshire career path.

Coincidentally there's been stories linking Wilshere to the City bench so he can fulfill their HG quota.

I wonder what Patrick Roberts is thinking right now: he had offers from both us and Everton but chose to join City, and rather than break into City's side he's on loan at Celtic this season.

Today's beauty is an article where Simon Jordan, failed ex-Chairman of Crystal Palace, claims that most/all of our players are ****ing off.

One of my cousins was in the same year at school with the second most orange person in England. He tells me that Jordan's own family wouldn't tell him if his arse was on fire.

We can file this under 'Unlikely".

Shouldn't the headline read Simon Jordan still upset that he rejected Spurs' offer for John Bostock...before he realised Bostock wasn't under contract?

Just as Graham Roberts and Gary Stevens did:

Meanwhile we also have Danny Murphy writing in Chelsea Fan George Osborne's Evening Standard how we'll have some difficult decisions to make about our players' wages.

Looks like the hacks have settled on another Narrative, then...

  12. One narrative gets shot down in flames, another raises its ugly head!! And so it will continue - for us at least it seems!

The media narrative. Spot the totally unbiased account
Chelsea lose, to a bottom half team who upped their game. Spurs bottle it against a bottom half team

I've said it before and I'll say it again: in the eyes of the media we're the Jeremy Corbyn of the Premier League. We're not the status quo, and that means we should not be tolerated.

  15. Tottenham should look to re-sign former players Jermain Defoe, 34, and Michael Carrick, 35, to add more experience to their squad, says former Spurs forward Clive Allen.
    (Talksport)

    <doh>
    No... Just.... NO!

Don't get me wrong, I loved the little magician, but I wouldn't put him ahead of Son or Lamela, no matter how much experience he has.

    And as for Carrick... <yikes>

Why the **** would we want a United cast-off?

He took the Devil's shilling too long ago, so he can **** right off, as far as I am concerned.

Who the hell would Carrick replace in our current midfield?

I quite like Clive Allen, but he does come out with some ****e.

Carrick would make sense from the standpoint of being used as a player coach, working with Winks on and off the pitch to improve his game in much the same way Davids was used in this role to improve Carrick's way back when. Of course there is the issue that, while Jol and Redknapp used veteran players in similar roles (i.e. Naybet, Gallas) so far there's been no evidence to suggest Poch would do similar.

  17. Sorry, HIAG - but I would get JD back in a heartbeat. We have space in the squad for another backup striker and his influence would be invaluable. But opinions are opinions.... As for Carrick - NO for sure!

I trust that tomorrow's papers will be linking various Man Utd and Liverpool players to us?
