Have you been in a coma for a few years?

It's exactly the kind of thing they do.

I can see "The Club" doing it for sure, just the picture being painted is Ehab sat in his executive box saying "fire those people", which seems a bit far fetched.

    As I said though, weird.

Each element of the club and SMS is a cost centre that has either to work at a profit or has to work within a tight budget.
There are very few concession tickets available now and whilst in real financial terms the cost of giving a ticket to someone who you would otherwise pay may seem reasonable, the loss of a saleable seat is a cost that one element of the SMC has to account for.
Supporters, employees, suppliers and contractors will all face challenges going forward, as costs are reduced in order to maximise profits.

    Read the post.
Perhaps I should spell it out for you.
Concession ticket equals one less seat to sell. The stewards who are already working at the ground will cost less than a ticket to employ for 15 minutes. It may seem petty and it may seem insignificant, but it is a saving. These are in house savings, unless the seats are sold.

That's a real bean counters point of view. Many business's have parts which are extremely profitable and others parts which cost more, putting it all together to make a success is what counts.

That only works if there is more demand for seats than seats available.

In business terms the SMC has to pay for the 6 tickets because they are responsible for the pitch. Hull City can give the tickets to the SMC free of charge so there is no cost to the SMC. With thousands of empty seats there is no loss of revenue for Hull City. The volunteers were sacked and the Allams save nothing as they own both Hull City and the SMC. However they lose more goodwill from City supporters and the people of Hull. Some people still seem to think they are good businessmen.

Despite spending over a quarter of a billion pounds our position as a football club hasn't advanced much beyond it was under Bartlett and in some ways its gone backwards.

If one department in the SMC or club wants tickets they have to pay for them. It is interdepartment accounting. Marketing would have to pay the ticket office for any concessions, as do all other departments.

The same happened at Southampton, no concessions even ex players, had to pay for tickets to watch the game after they did thier duties in the lounges.

I've had a few dealing with the club over last couple of years outside of being a fan
I can absolutely believe that Ehab would have personally made the decision
I've been amazed at the lack of decision making power that staff have, the level of things that have to be referred to him for decision is incredibly low

That policy was introduced by the Allams and can be altered or ignored by the Allams if it suited them. All Ehab had to do was create an Ehab department and tell the SMC and Hull City that the 6 tickets would be given to the volunteers free of charge by either the SMC or Hull City. How many employees of either company would question it? I'd say none, neither would the HMRC.

When taken in the round yesterday saved them nothing in cash terms and cost them an enormous amount of goodwill.

I don't think goodwill is upmost in their thoughts when it comes to City fans.

Is there a link between groundsmen going a couple of weeks ago, rumour of dodgy paperwork and then these divot replacers going.- have free tickets somehow been misused /misdeclared?
Be interesting to know what happens at the end of an FC game in terms of after match pitch repair?

Did some of the Academy have to pay for tickets as well, or was I dreaming that...?
