Hartlepool just go 2-1 up against Doncaster, so Newport are now in the drop zone after Notts County pull a goal back. Tense last 5 mins now for both those clubs.
Seven minutes added on at Hartlepool but it may be irrelevant as Newport score in the last minute against Notts County...
Poor Jeff Stelling - he'll be crying over his pint tonight. Wonder if he's got another rant lined up.....
Swansea get the win, good, I would like Clement to do well. Plus it could drag Palace deep into the mire, I'll be a Hull supporter next weekend, anything to see that toad Allardyce relegated.
Only trouble if Palace go down is I have to put up with the extra home games they play in the Championship, a right pain in the arse...
For no reason at all I wanted Newport to get over the line. Dave Jones football genius strikes again.
Amazing, Leicester were around rock bottom at Xmas time and now they are up to ninth! Player attitude says it all.
Newport were the first team I got to see live regularly as I worked in Newport and got to the Tuesday night games with mates who were . Their home ground at Somerton Park was also the Speedway track and right next to the railway line - a little dangerous but ease of access for free entry on night games. They had a few stars there - John Aldridge, Paul Bodin, Karl Elsey, Bob Latchford, Steve Lowndes (well he was famous in Cwmbran at my school), Tommy Tynan, John Relish - most became local heroes. It was sad to see them go out of the league, there was always a huge crowd problem when Cardiff or Swansea visited. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/strange-story-newport-county
Who do we want to go down today? Apart from the missus. Birmingham would be hilarious for 'arry reasons but it's an easy trip and a team I like. Forest would be good as they're potentially good next season if they get their act together. Blackburn is the ****test away trip and we've got Bolton to fill that void so hopefully them.
Brum, they sacked a good manager when 7th in the league, appointed a 'name' who couldn't manage a whelk stall and then appointed the widest of wide-boys who shafted us royally. I hope they draw and Forest and Blackburn score injury time winners after their game has finished...
They'll be **** next season whoever is the manager. I went to uni there and liked the Brum fans. Villa were all ****s. Every one.
for comedic value only I'll go with Soops, B'ham celebrating a draw while Forest and Blackburn nab injury time winners
Blackburn truly is the ****ehole of England, and Venkys deserve all thats coming to them, but it would be good to see Harry fail....
