Ajax have had a brilliant development system for decades, set up by an Englishman who managed them on and off between 1917 and 1947, Jack Reynolds. He also invented Total Football. Never managed in the UK. Rinus Michels perfected it from the mid sixties, and his pupil Cruyff took it to Barcelona. Along with Terry Venables, Stan Bowles, Paolo Maldini and Arrigo Sacchi these blokes epitomise the beautiful game for me.

I would so love to see Ajax get to the final and then beat Man Utd just to show Mourinho that you can win it with kids...

I think Man Utd will struggle big time against Ajax,

As always though, I will want the British team to win.

Boy wonder Rashford strikes again with a great free kick to give Man Utd an away goal, after they've missed three golden chances.

as I watched Spurs lose at West Ham, it brought back memories of Leicester (6th rd. Cup), Norwich and Oxford United. You knew early in the game, it wasn't to be

Keeper should have kept it out.

Did you hear the debate Ray Wilkins had with Neil Custis on Talksport? Got quite feisty.

History shows Spurs ( in second place again ) don't have the backbone to carry out an attacked the leaders at the pointy end of the season.
    Pity.
I guess at least they are not propping up the Championship like another London team.

Spurs seemed to freeze last night and couldn't play. But that's no surprise as a lot of their players were in the England team that bottled it at the Euro's last year.

I really don't think Spurs froze last night. Kane should have scored and that would probably have opened the flood gates as West Ham pushed out more.
West Ham were incredibly hard working and basically played most of the game with 11 men behind the ball. That's very difficult to break down.

Incidentally, Alan Smith was barely able to hide his gooner glee as Spurs struggled.
Personally I'd much prefer Spurs to win the league as opposed to Chelsea. Sadly, that won't happen now.

How many Chelsea players would get in a Chelsea/Spurs combined eleven? I can only think of Hazard and Kante.

I'd probably have Pedro over Son. The first XI isn't the problem though. Chelsea can bring on Fabregas. Spurs can bring on Winks and he's injured. Chelsea can bring on Ake or John Terry. I don't even know who Spurs' sub centre-half is.

Gary Waddock's Aldershot 4-0 down in the playoffs. Jake Cole is in goal.

Sunderland, of all teams, end Marco Silva's three year unbeaten home record at Hull and Swansea have a lifeline just kicked off at Everton...

Hartlepool on SS1 looking on their way out of the EFL after 96 years, trailing 0-1 to Doncaster whilst Newport looking good winning 1-0 at Notts County...

All change as Rodney scores twice to give Hartlepool a 2-1 lead whilst Newport are level 1-1. Last 5 minutes...
