I notice CITIC are based in Hong Kong. Rightly or wrongly that makes me feel a little more comfortable. It's still very much Chinese money behind the investment firm. I guess we'll find out over time the personalities behind the bid http://www.citics.com.hk/Default.aspx
I'm assuming that is still an 80-85% stake and not a complete buyout. That mythical total value of around £250M that some of us read in some obscure piece of news [I certainly can't remember where I read it] in the past year seems to be holding up well.
Talking about cider, and getting it round to my latest... ok, it's a faux pas, I removed a goose from the freezer about 3 days ago, in order to roast tomorrow. I had intended to leave it until Christmas, but on a whim I took it out to thaw. Since then I've eaten an absolute mountain of chicken, and I'm thinking it wasn't my wisest move ever. This goose is rather large and I should do it justice by having quite a few trimmings. I was thinking of a cider based gravy for starters. There's my tenuous connection achieved.
I was tempted to retort that you cooked your goose there, but that's probably too obvious a metaphor!
