When someone phones you or visits a close relative out of the blue and tells you they love you then normally it will be because they are going to do something heroic or run away for a long long time....
Yikes! So apparently my wife's sister's hubby just got arrested. I don't know many details yet but apparently FBI involved, and has something to do with trying to entice someone underage to have sex with him. Don't know details beyond that, wife got the call at dinner time, teared up, and didn't speak much because we had kids with us. "Uncle is a ***** " isn't typical dinnertime convo. I guess I find out the details when she gets to her sister's house. (Out of state so will be late tonight) It's their youngest child's birthday this weekend too. Horrible timing. Funny thing is, me and Mrs. both said "I'm not really surprised" when we found out about the arrest. If he is found guilty I'm not sure what that means for SIL and kids. She has a master's degree but has never had a real job. She certainly will.never get anywhere near the salary her husband has. I'm sure they'll have to sell the house and slum it.
Yes. Spoke to my wife a little more... She's still en route to her sister's. She's been getting info from her mother but told her not to tell her much before she gets there because its making her tear up hearing it and she doesn't want to crash the car. He was caught by an undercover FBI agent. I know the attorney has said it doesn't look good for him too which suggests they have some solid evidence. I just feel bad for the kids. (Although to be honest I didn't think much of his parenting, he would spank those kids quite hard for ever-so-slightly crossing the line... I'm sure its probably worse when there arnt witnesses) Still, no way SIL can afford to keep their big house on any job she will get. They will lose the house, lose their father, worse, find out that he is a *****.
Oh and their attorney warned them it will probably be on local news too... Which makes it even worse. They will probably have to move. God, I hope not here... I dont get along with the Sister In Law, I don't want to see more of her.
Wow sucks for your wife's fam man, what a **** Presuming it was online, seems to be how most *****s and wannabe *****s get caught now ... grooming, dirty talk and dirty pics When I said hunters get him I thought it could be these who use online decoys, vigilante civilians who track them and go confront them but obviously the actual law has got him in this case. There's that show, what is it, to catch a predator or something that stings potential child abusers His kids, and the wife, may well be better away from him given what you've said and yeah bad that the kids will have to hear this Seems like a lot of *****s are driven by mental illness, depression and other disorders, obviously some are just plain nasty and sadists but even that must have origins in some kind of mental problem. These things need to be better identified and treated as a root cause to help prevent this **** through counselling, therapy, courses of drugs where necessary
Safe to say mental health was under strain. Honestly his wife is a bit of a bitch too (she's diagnosed bi polar and even on meds can be unpleasant), they're both extremely high strung individuals, and neither would get divorced because of religious reasons so I'm sure there was a lot of stress there. He's the CFO of a company so it's a stressful job to boot (I'm sure he won't be CFO much longer). Their eldest has severe anxiety. A decade ago he got caught having phone sex with one of those dial up lines and their marriage hasn't been close since. He's also always seemed a little "different".
Found out the details. He's definitely guilty. He responded to an ad on Craigslist from a "mother/daughter" team looking for a "naughty teacher" to teach the 12 year old daughter how to have sex. They have lots of emails from him, ones where he specifically says he's ok with the age. They have phone calls from him and intercepted him en route to a set up meeting place. The attorney says he's looking at a minimum of 10 years. (I did some googling and I saw one place saying 5 year minimum so not sure why the attorney says 10, but I'm sure the attorney better informed than my googling) Bail hearing is Wednesday but they don't expect bail to be granted, it usually isn't, because there is a high risk of flight or suicide for people with this crime. Kids haven't even noticed he is missing yet. He usually spends very little time at home just comes home to sleep. (I've often said to the Mrs that I bet he's having an affair no one works that hard). The sister in law is going to divorce him thankfully.
Considering he clearly has a senior position and must be qualified/intelligent how come he was suckered into answering an advert on Craiglist? I have not got a clue how Craiglist works, but surely no one would advertise such a thing as everyone could see it and report them.
Maybe she will be lucky and find a load of shares to sell or whatever. But.... I just hope you find he's not done other things you don't know about and it all comes out once he's inside. You don't need all that ****

I don't know. Not sure if illegal stuff advertised openly like that on Craigslist frequently. I found another article from Atlanta (when searching his charge to see what exactly it meant) dated from last year with a sting where they arrested a couple dozen men who answered to an FBI agent posing as a 15 year old on Craigslist. As well as using his computer and phones to contact the FBI bait, his emails included information such as his real first name, gave his employer's name (actually he gave them an employer he worked for 15 years ago not his real current company), and that he was a weekend "soccer" coach for boys and a few other identifying real life information that links to him (so not too smart). They have taken his lap top and both his cell phones. Which has been a problem for his wife, because it had all the details of all the bills that get paid, to who, and when. He handled all that, she never touched their financial stuff. She is trying to figure out who she owes money to and when. I wonder if he controlled all the finances so his wife couldn't see where he was spending money. As far as I know he hasn't been caught with any other charge yet, they haven't found anything else out. I know the FBI hasn't even interviewed HIS kids to make sure he was never inappropriate with them. I don't know why. Seems an obvious step to me. His eldest is 11 and the girl he thought he was going to do was 12. His kids are all boys. Maybe he only like girls.
