Why were they so good compared to now? Im struggling to compare and see why it was so much better then.
Yes mate. But men were men. Whats got me thinking was daft. Been watching ink masters. Inks, artists are far superior today.
Theyll be even more superior in about 10 years aswell. The world we live in is developing all the time. It makes you wonder what mobile phones and computers will be like in years to come?
But the fans wouldn't leave in their droves if the team weren't so consistently ****e. Fans do expect more these days...even demand more. But tickets cost a lot more these days and therefore fans hope to get more for their money...in my opinion.
I think overall, back in the day, men were probably more pleasant and gentlemanly. Probably more respectful and loyal, as well. Not sure why the older generation seem to think they were tougher, just because they had very little. I'd put my last pound on it that many a man from days gone by couldn't survive street life now. Drugs has ****ed my generation, it makes people weak and takes away men being gentlemen and loyal. I'd like to take certain things from each generation, if I could.
I used to give up my seat when a member of the older generation got on the bus now I don' t cause I have a car. - F**k the old b**tards ooh wait
Yeah it was much better back in the day when people never survived cancer, kids died of whooping cough and everybody went on holiday to Blackpool and contracted foot-in-mouth. No seriously, I believe it has a lot to do with freedom of expression, perhaps it's gone too far now but I think a lot of men and women have risen up and turned their back on the indoctrination process imposed on them by the church. Once you stop fearing God, you have less boundaries and perhaps that's the reason why with every generation respect for elders seems to dwindle, in general. The thing I hate most about today is victim mentality, and that means those who just lay down and accept the card that they were dealt and blame everybody but themselves for why their life is so pathetic.
Also unless given what you have in property etc has been worked for ,it now seems you can want, have, and get most things which mostly leads to debt and unhappiness ,cant pay we will take it away ..home breakers
The "Good old days" were the 50s and 60s, of course you are going to struggle to compare , you were not even born, IMHO they were/are so called because it was definitely an era of happiness, we had not been brainwashed into thinking that the most important thing in the world was money, if we wanted to go somewhere most of the time we walked there ( fitter) we could not afford to eat and drink to our hearts content ( Thinner) Drugs we had asprin and Epson Salts ( Sane ) Highlight of the week was one of the dance halls where hundreds of boys and girls met and were able to dance together to music that had no effect on your hearing. A boy or a girl could walk from one end of Sunderland to the other in safety, I have no personal knowledge of any girl being attacked in Sunderland, of course it must have happened but it was not normal , (over 400,000 rapes in the UK last year ) OK the men are tougher now, evidence the vast abusive vocabulary and the hundreds of swear words they know , except in my day if you swore in front of a female you had to be able to protect yourself, with fists, feet were used for kicking footballs not people All of this talk is in vain as we are never going to see those standards return, but I would like you to consider the world of your grandchildren, have we reached the bottom or will things continue to deterioate at the same rate I have lived in Australia for most part of my life but will always love Sunderland and everything it stands for , I certainly believe that any success I have achieved is due to the special genes I was born with from generations of Sunderland ancestors You do not get to be the biggest shipbuilding town in the world for between four hundred and five hundred years without being something special, When you go into a museum or art gallery and see old paintings of ships in naval battles you can guarentee that most of those ships were built in Sunderland OK you may think an old mans ramblings but I couldnt give a ****
Lots of things being lost as youngsters today have got more but in a big way less because of technology and fear of todays happenings when outside of the home, education in its self has become a victim of todays attitude shown ,pupils behaviour is shambolic in many schools nowadays,no respect, knowing the teachers are living in fear of using disapline ,same with the police no respect or fear at all,oh how its changed.
