1-0 FT. Garbage performance. Never got going and rarely looked like scoring. The changes came too late and didn't really work, anyway.
So you are faced with a bus. So you pass fast and forward, go down the flanks to stretch its shape etc. Spurs did NONE of that today.
Wish I could say I am sorry guys, but am not, for obvious reasons. Well done for keeping the title race alive for such a long time though, we would have won it in March if not for you guys. you are more or less guaranteed second this time though, so it is still improvement...... Bad luck guys.
Oh well. **** second half for us, we'll survive without the title this season. Lets concentrate on setting our record points total as high as we can. 9 wins on the bounce aint bad. Certainly something Hammer's fans can only dream of
Going down gloriously chasing is one thing. Producing a dog **** performance against a team that has won one in eleven prior to tonight, that's just not acceptable. They let themselves down tonight.
I wonder how many touches Kane had tonight? Less than 10 I reckon. That was complete rubbish. Far too slow in the build up and we couldn't get past their wall. Nervy at the back too. Typical that West Ham produce the performance of their lives. I also thought the ref gave us nothing. We need 2 points to.guarantee 2nd...
I couldn't give a **** about the "title race". As far as I'm concerned there hasn't been one. Chelsea have been brilliant this season, and are so good at grinding out results when they need to. They've got answers to everything with their strength in depth, too. We've done ourselves proud by punching above our weight again this season and deserve to finish second. It's just ****ing **** losing to these pricks who have been a shower of **** all season, and only decide to turn up when they play us. Same old story with us though, we need to have a decent summer of business and not shoot ourselves in the foot with random signings that offer us nothing the following season. Signing players like Nkoudou and Sissoko and spending all that money is ****ing baffling. A couple of proven players and it could have been a different story.
Win some, lose some. Let's be fair, this is only Spurs 4th defeat in the PL this season. Spurs were never realistically going catch up with Chelsea. And if Spurs had to lose a game at this stage, I would rather it against West Ham than Arsenal. Spurs are still on track to finishing 2nd. Come on boys, only a few more games to hold on. Tonight wasn't your night, no need to dwell on it.
The players need to pick themselves up from this and make sure that the rest of the season isn't as poor. We've still got some tough game left and I don't want to see a repeat of the end of the last campaign. They did well to get it down to 4 points from double figures. Now don't let it get back up to that again.
Cheers bodinki. Both this season and last season we had a spell at the start where we drew far too many and couldn't grind out wins, which is something you guys rarely fail at. Although we've lost very few, the draws have been the difference.
Walker didn't turn up and it's not Davies' game. A lot of floated diagonal balls, which were easy for their experienced defenders. When things work well and wins come easily, it's hard to adapt when the opposition put up a fight and a plan B is needed. A game away to West Ham, who always seem to raise their game for Spurs, was not the kindest fixture at this time. Chelsea have been fortunate. Soton and Everton could have been tough games, but neither side seemed motivated to perform with little or nothing to play for. The PL is always praised for being fair, with teams giving 100% whatever the circumstances; the reality is that when that competitive edge has gone, teams don't perform as they could.
I actually hoped that you guys would beat Chelsea to the title, but much like last year you've slipped up when the pressure is on. I actually think Spurs are an outstanding side these days, certainly a much stronger side than we are currently. But based on these last 2 seasons you have to question the teams bottle in the big games. You've had probably your strongest team ever for the last 2 years and you've won nothing. Even our shambles of a side has picked up a couple of cups and a charity shield in that time
A bit of a weird performance...did they freeze again when it mattered most? That's my question after this game. I just hope we can keep the team together, even though we were all saying it's Chelsea's to lose, which it was but the hope was still there. Hope gone now, we must consolidate 2nd
Agreed. We needed Danny rose back, ideally. Stretching them on both sides would have made a massive difference. That, and walkers head actually being in "spurs mode".
