Oslo 2012. Headliner, Noel Gallagher was on before her. She's a great performer, positively surprised.
No, seen him. A couple of years ago. What struck me about him was he looked exactly the same as in the 80's. Good on him, must work hard in the gym, or maybe plenty of plastic surgery
Not a bad call. Actually only seen them once, but they are fantastic live. Think it was their second to last farewell tour. Rumour is they're planning another farewell tour, quitting must be hard. Well worth a go if you get the chance.
Incredibly I've not gone to see them three times now. It quite irritates me as it's a band I would have very much liked to see live. Preferably some years ago, now not so much anymore. Your go again Ian
We went to the same gigs and stood in the same bit of the loft on a Saturday Ian! I followed Theatre of Hate (never liked spear of destiny) and I was at that king kurt gig too - got a vinegar soaked towel smack in the face for my troubles. I never volunteered for the onstage hair cut though!
Festival in Stavanger about 7 years ago. Absolutely brilliant, always loved them, love them live! She's appeared on three occasions now I think. Not much of a singer, but still very fit...
Gary Glitter Banarama Paper Lace big Audio Dynamite Erasure Duran Duran ABC Eurythmics Boomtown rats Bluebells. Just realised what a strange bunch that is
I was a little late onto theatre of hate, same with Joy Division unfortunately. Saw a lass nearly knocked out in the queue for KK, took a handful of red jelly on the side of the head at pace. Lots of tears. I only got hit by flour. Wouldn't risk the stage haircut, I was a fan of Andy the barber in Tulse Hill. Spent many Saturday mornings waiting for him to open to get the best flat top in London (allegedly). Also, I was not the guy who stood right in the corner of the loft that shouted "URs" from start to finish. He gave me earache. Was that you?
Hope not! I had a flat top too, courtesy of a north London barber called Lawrence whose shop was full of pictures of his sheep shearing holidays! Never saw Joy Division, but I did see the Stray Cats!
You'd know if it was you. He was a constant in the seasons I lived in London. Did you get to the Klub Foot? Always great fun - Restless, Guana batz, Demented are Go, etc
Loved them, saw them at Newport Centre late 80s without Siobhan, me and my mate Ant were the tallest in the crowd and the only ones in the bar drinking beer. Bumped into them in a curry house later that night, they got smashed and loud. Disappointing.
Sorry Beth, I was 15 and my parents took me to the ICI Fibres Social Club in Pontypool. My first and (in hindsight) possibly the worst show. They did follow that up with a local version of the Barron Knights. I never went there with them again
Good spot... they were playing at Reading Uni at their first tour. We were in the bar but couldn't be bothered to go into the hall to see them. The bar had emptied and we chose to enjoy the beer, pool and quiet. Regretted it when we found out who they were. Back to you. Good fun this
It is good fun - maybe we should've left this til the season finished, so we've got somethimg to talk about on here! Here's a group of better know bands from north of the border..... Mogwai Twin Atlantic Primal Scream Frightened Rabbit Paulo Nutini The View The Fratellis Travis Texas The Proclaimers
