To be fair, he joined late, hasn't made the millions others have and he's already won a La Liga and PL (hopefully 2). He's never going to be an uber legend so if he can double/triple his money in the few years he's got left seeing as he's pretty injury prone, good luck to him

...a financial penalty so harsh, Fabian Delph won't be getting his wages for two weeks in order to cover it.

Maybe.... just need to overcome all the big boys first :p.

Once in a lifetime opportunity to be the highest paid player in the world.

  6. That pretty much sums up what's wrong with the game. All the while financial penalties don't impact on either bottom line of player or club then this sort of behaviour will continue. Plus ca change!

After achieving practically nothing at Wembley or West Ham these last two seasons, our 21st century players don't like to play on wide pitches?
It doesn't look promising for our many games at Wembley next season.......!!!!?

Far as I'm concerned, it's not about the size of the pitch. But yes, I have some fears about Spurs performance next season at Wembley! If Spurs do not at the very least secure the top 4 next season, they may really struggle to keep some key players before moving into the new stadium in 2018.

Well it won't be the fans who screw up next season. So it's up to the players and I hope THEY don't let the fans down...or themselves!

If they lose this, which looks fairly likely, then their game against Hull next Sunday is a massive fixture.
If Hull beat Sunderland today, then it becomes even more important, especially if Swansea get something today.
The Swans face the Mackems next week, so it could be a very close thing for that final place.

City's early dominance doesn't always lead to wins, though.
They run out of steam quite a bit.

    Not quite enough.
Palace were crap. How did they beat Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool and run Spurs close so recently?

They bust a gut in games against Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester, yet doing so left them vulnerable in the following matches - hence the follow-up matches saw them lose to Southampton and Burnley. The Arsenal result is just a freak occurrence, as their second half implosion meant Palace didn't have to go balls to the wall for ninety minutes.

Are teams kicking off at 3pm on Saturday banned from scoring goals?

Except for Liverpool, who are just crap against sides that hit them on the counter and are dangerous on set-pieces.

Hull's manager hasn't lost a home league game in years.
Looks like he might blow that record against Sunderland! <laugh>
Glad I'm not a betting man.

...so are there a bunch of Chav fans invading Hull's Twitter feed calling them bottlers now? At least be consistent.
