This is still fact and has got our nation on it's knees.
The only things growing in the UK are hospital waiting lists and queues for the food banks.

When the global financial crisis occurred the estimated cost was £800bn and that put it about right on the button.

The deficit is slowing down year on year because the necessary cutbacks in public spending are being made.

Labour's plan is to make cuts in other areas, which is what all of this is about. The cuts simply have to be made because if we get our credit rating downgraded the interest goes up and we are beyond ****ed.

No party is responsible for the debt solely, and using it against the Tories is desperate at best.

I don't want the cuts to come from where Corbyn is suggesting, it puts everybody's lives at risk and is a massive roll of the dice that is just too ideal, his head is firmly buried, along with his chest, legs and feet in the sand.

Are Labour planning cuts? I assumed they'd just increase corporation tax etc and not cut any public service? I'll need to see the policies and manifestos at some point (are they even out yet?) to form a proper opinion.

Labour (under Corbyn) will diminish our armed forces and internal security capabilities. The guy has pledges amounting to ridiculous figures... Does he seriously think these big earners are funding all of that? We'd see big money leaving the country left, right and centre and Corbyn would have this nation financially crippled overnight.

Bit rich of Labour to go on about the deficit going up under the Tories. It's like saying a supertanker kept on going when you turned the engine off!

As for electing a Labour government, does anyone really want Diane Abbott in charge of the police, MI5, immigration and national security? Granted she's going to hire 250,000 extra police, but still... :)

Labour's policy is to grow the economy rather than make cuts which will in theory reduce the deficit by increasing tax revenue. They also propose clamping down on corporation tax evasion.

It's been a very promising night for the Conservatives. Up 115 seats and Labour are down 113.

Just a little hiccup. He can still turn this around.

In Northumberland, Lib Dems drew with Conservatives and ended up drawing short straws. Lib Dems took it. Also 11% swing there from Labour to Conservative.

Regardless of how bad the labour leadership is, I can't for the life of me understand why anyone from a working class background could even contemplate voting Tory.
