Can anyone else hear what sounds like a concert/circus/magic show going on. I am Garden Village area and it is audible over the football on TV.... Strong easterley wind, so could be something at East Park/city of culture event??? Search on web does not throw up anything... Think it was going on last night too.....
Perhaps should have explained better....imagine the music in the background of something like a David Blain illusion type thingy.....building the tension, not music as such but atmosphere building musical stuff...............can you tell i did not take Music at school?
LIVE UPDATE FROM EAST HULL - The "cultural" noise has stopped and normal service is resumed in the slums of Wilmington
Nothing on the 2017 website, it could have been a drunken youth with a ghettoblaster and a laser pen. With an assortment of cassettes.
The best ghettoblasters were twin deck, for two cassettes...... I have got a Virgin credit card, the design is below, born from the days of Virgin records... I once used it, not in Hull, and the young girl said thats unusual, what is it???? Obviously I am not Richard Branson........or am I.....no I'm not.....I don't think. please log in to view this image
I remember the pleasures of trying to untangle yards of my favourite tape knotted around the spools. The good old days.
Yes, and I can remember how your stomach used to knot in fear as the horror unfolded, as the music slowly lost volume, and slowed down......AARGGHHHH, the machine is eating the tape !!!!!........you had to sprint to the offending mechanical muncher before it ate too much and snapped the tape altogether. Music was bad enough, but if it was one of my ZX Spectrum games like Football Director or Football Manager that got munched....well the offending bastard machine would get no sympathy and got clouted with a big hammer, so the tape cover got smashed off.
Fine detective work my good man. So the noise was a secret City of Culture event attracting 3000 people to an event right near where I live that I knew nothing about. I suppose there is some logic in not telling anyone about it...after all 13000 people turned up at 9 burger vans in Trinity square.....
That'll be the one I know one of the performers Interesting idea (and on tomorrow too I think...but not sure if it's same place)
