Probably best we let you know now that it isn't look good for him. Club have been trying to hush this up but it's been leaked somehow that they doubt he'll ever be the same player again. He'd pass a medical physically, but not the same strength in that leg, or speed. Might be worth you letting any of your club contacts know that. . Honest la
I heard he'd been fitted with a prosthetic....so realistic that he should get through a medical before it falls off.
And then there's the eyesight problem as well. He's not too bad with Saints' home kit, but shirts which are all one colour just get lost in the background...
I'm sure I saw, in the training gallery, a screen erected at the far side of Staplewood, and a man with a shotgun. Best if ALL other teams remember VVD as the greatest CB they never had, whilst we remarket him as his own identical twin brother (shades of 'Allo, Allo), who is also, coincidentally called Virgil.
So Virgil missed yesterday's festivities for a prolonged medical consultation. Ignoring any undoubted rumours that this was at another club (unlikely bearing in mind he'd probably fail any medical at the moment), it suggests he has gone back to Canada. I'm getting concerned for Virgil as a human being (rather than an asset)....what is going on in what appeared to be a minor injury. It was said to be a small break, but it must be in a very difficult position if a brief rest couldn't cure it.
According to the Bone and Joint Journal, "the presence of a malleolar fracture is associated with a worse outcome than a corresponding ligamentous injury" http://www.bjj.boneandjoint.org.uk/content/94-B/11/1567
I don't think it is too serious. He has been back running for weeks now. I imagine we are being taking additional precautions as our season is pretty much over.
Yeah the buying club have probably said they don't want him playing again this year, will be just a precaution
The Premier League have refused Virgil permission to play using his zimmer frame, they have got it in for us and no mistake.
