He never thought the council went back on its word, he thought his act of fake largesse would win everyone over and that his plans and deal would be irresistible; he was wrong. His subsequent actions were nothing more that a true reflection of the soul of him and his son. They expect to have their way, I'm 100% sure of that.
So when he called the Council liars and crooks and going back on their word what was he referring to if not the freehold?
He said they all wanted joint ventures so they could be directors of private companiesand could pocket an extra £25k a year.
I have no reason to believe him when we have all heard him tell bare-faced lies publicly. It suggests no such thing; that's utter bollocks.
That doesn't explain why he called them liars and cheats though and why they went back on their word.
But that's just your opinion. Where's your evidence? Just because he's lied before doesn't mean he's not telling the truth this time?
Can we put this thread into language that the modern fan can understand? Allam getting the freehold was never in doubt. Then he got knocked on his arse in the 6th round?
And I'm 100% certain that when the man who promised him it was asked to deliver he suddenly realised that he was never in any position to promise anything of the sort and dare not even meet AA face to face. He sent the monkey grinder instead.
What's my opinion? What evidence do you want? Are you claiming you are unaware of the Allams, father or son, telling lies? What I have said is that I have no reason to trust a public liar, so I require evidence of his so-called facts, the ones you repeat, especially.
We might also have had the £100m plus investment into the area as AA promised. Instead we have had nothing and the area is slowly falling to bits for lack of investment as highlighted in the HDM last week. The stadium was supposed to kick start the regeneration in the area and it hasn't done. Perhaps AA's plan just might have done, even if only a fraction of it had been carried out. But we will never know will we ?
How can you say that? We've seen grazing extended to 4 carthorses now, with an option for a further two.
Or we could have been locked out of the kc stadium if ever the council didn't play ball.as Mrs brown would say.feck him
After all the debate on the subject, it's good that this thread has finally clarified the situation and we're all in agreement.
We were locked out of Boothferry Park by David LLoyd who was the landlord because the clubs owners, Hinchcliffe and Buchanan were not paying the rent, in fact they were not paying for anything. It was a manufactured move to cut off the Sheffield Mafia's money supply and clear the decks for the arrival of Sir Adam of Harrogate to ride in on his white horse and save us. Locking the gates was probably the best move the club had done in it's history up to then. It certainly didn't hold us back.
He got the club into the Premier League as he promised and he got them back again after relegation as he promised. He also backed the manager ( Phelan) after Bruce ( who wasn't exactly kept short of cash) walked out, and he recruited Silva, who no-one had heard of and allowed him to bring in his own staff and players. How many previous owners have delivered on everything ? And how many on nothing at all ?
I remember the campaign to get rid of Fish and Co was because they couldn't and wouldn't deliver on the pitch.
