    Nail. On. Head.

If the council had given him the stadium as he wanted, we'd either be playing at Costello by now or we wouldn't have a club at all.

    Not really we got this.

City had been hoping to sell part of their car park for a supermarket, a plan which included a new North Stand. But though the old North Stand was cleared in 1982, all that replaced it was a narrow strip of open terrace, backing onto the supermarket wall.

    Yes I know
It was slightly tongue in cheek, and I spent several games stood on there

I would say that there is nothing exact about these quotes.

Really not sure what this means as I see all posters challenged regularly?

So, you are not certain who promised Allam the freehold.
Nor are you certain where this took place, if it took place.
But you are certain Allam was offered the freehold; this beggars the question of who gave you that certainty?

In all of this speculation I would suggest there are only two sources who might be certain to know, one being the person who offered it. But if it was that person then you could say you knew who it was with 100% certainty and you don't.

The other person would be Allam (father or son) and I would be surprised and disappointed if you took their word for the time of day.

As for buying it to develop the freehold (him or a subsequent buyer) that is very old speculation, as some of us concluded that quite a few years ago.

    So, nothing new, Obi?

    It was always obvious.

No local politician had it within their gift to offer Allam the freehold of the stadium and he was mad if he thought anybody could.*

*I am obviously aware that he's a bit mad.

I'm 95% certain who said he could have it, that's enough for me. However its not enough to put it in the public domain.

Are you certain that everything Allam (father or son) says is a lie? Seems the kind of wild generalisation some people attribute to me.

I have never heard a politician give a definitive answer on anything when asked, they usually answer a question with another question. I can't believe therefore that anyone at the council would give AA an assurance he would be able to obtain the freehold.

He was told he could have it for £300,000. But it turns out they meant £80 million...

He was certainly mad when he thought the council went back on its word. It has soured everything that has happened under his ownership. From the victory celebration when we got automatic promotion to the name change.

No, I'm not certain everything they say is a lie and wouldn't claim it to be the case. I have seen and heard enough from them to not trust them. Do people attribute wild generalisations to you, I hadn't noticed?

Absolutely, and Allam would not do a deal on the strength of a wink, as his relationship with the council was already marred over property issues. It's all been extensively discussed on here.

So when Assem says he was promised the freehold and the council went back on their word you cannot be certain he's making it up?

His actions and attitude towards the council suggests that, at the least, he believed he was told he could have the freehold.

When we met with Assem, he ranted for ages about the Council, but made absolutely no mention of any deal for the freehold. He mainly banged on about Geraghty being an idiot who didn't wear a tie and played with his iPad during a meeting and how short sighted they were for not doing a deal with him.

It suggests either that or that someone turned up to a meeting in a Cardigan and fiddled with his iPad during it.
