Wow, didn't expect to see this.

Aaron Lennon has been detained by doctors under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act, or "sectioned" as it is sometimes known.

Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called at around 4.35pm to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man on Eccles Old Road.

"Officers attended and a 30-year-old man was detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act and was taken to hospital for assessment."

Best of luck to the guy and hope he gets better.
Was a cracking player in his youth, never really fulfilled his potential, but hope he recovers.

Real shame to hear. Loved him at Spurs, always got us out of our seats down The Lane when he had the ball.

Hope he gets the help he needs.

A real shame, a good pro and a decent fella. I'd wondered why he'd gone missing from our squad for a couple of months, no idea whether his absence was due to his depression or if his absence has caused it though.

Hopefully he'll now get the help that he needs.

Hope he recovers well. Seemed like a genuinely decent bloke.

I was never happy that we sold him. Who knows how long he's been having these problems.

Very sorry to hear that Aaron's suffering. I hope that he's back on the road to good health very soon. If he's up to it, maybe he could attend the last game at WHL? Lots of love for him at Spurs.

    Best wishes Littl'un.

  8. Lennon was, for several seasons, my favourite player at Spurs. My eldest has a signed photo of him hanging on his bedroom wall.

It's a real shame. I hate this kind of news.

I sincerely hope he gets all the help he needs and pulls through this. I also hope that both Spurs and Everton look out for him and his family.

    Mental Health Awareness.

1 in 4 will suffer, people need to start talking about a once taboo subject.

Hope he gets the support needed. Much love.

It's largely ignored in the uk mate as it's an 'unseen' illness. ****ing disgraceful really and more needs to be done.

Hope Lennon and family gets (and will accept) all the support he needs.

My career was spent raising awareness and treating mental health problems. It's always been the poor relation to primary care, and badly underfunded.

Much more work is still needed, especially regarding young men's mental health and suicide awareness. A topic that was driven home again last week when I found out that an old friend of mine had taken his life ....

I'd like to say thanks to those West Ham fans who are in favour of supporting the Spurs fans in a minute of applause on 7 minutes to offer good wishes to Aaron.

Well done lads and lasses. You are a credit to the game. I am sure that Swansea fans will do the same in their game with Everton.
