Shocked to hear that about Azza. Always seemed like a nice bloke and he worked his arse off for the team. Hope he gets the better of whatever the issue was soon <ok>

Seems like the issues may have been brewing for a while, so hopefully Everton were already monitoring his welfare. <hug>

Terrible news about Lennon. Hope he gets all the help, support and privacy that he needs. Could it be that there was a deeper meaning to the way he celebrated what I think was his last goal for us?

My wife was sectioned twice last year. The second time she was taken into a specialist unit in Canterbury and given very good treatment. There are modern drugs which control these episodes very well, far better than the old 'switch your brain off' drugs that the used to use. They allow people to get through the day relatively well and then sleep well at night. Let's hope Aaron gets the best of treatment and is on the road to recovery ASAP.

This could happen to anybody and there but for the grace of chance go I. I mixed religion and canabis in my early 30's and went off on one. I had an episode of Blind Faith where, as god was looking after me, I didn't need to do it for myself. I couldn't feel pain, drove through red lights and didn't bother to go to bed or sleep. Everything started to fall apart. Friends were very concerned for my safety and taked me down eventually, but it could have gone oh so wrong. I now look at it as one of my nine lives. I've been Atheist ever since, however, I can understand why the Christians just stood and sung when the Romans threw them to the lions.

Hopefully this incident will allow Lennon to get the help that he needs and he'll be able to get back to doing what he does best.
Odd that this happened just after we heard his name sung for the first time in a while at White Hart Lane.
It would be nice to hear the fans singing his name again on Friday and not just to mock Walcott this time.

I wonder if he's invited to the final league game at the old stadium?
Everton play at home on the Friday, so there wouldn't have been a schedule clash in advance.
Might do him good to hear that he's still thought of very highly many people.

I have nothing but the best wishes for Aaron Lennon, who has a special place in my memory. Nobody turned games the way he did.

It's a reminder that psychological and mental issues are far more common than most realize. I hope we make strides both towards finding solutions for them and in supporting those who suffer from them. As it stands, many are reluctant to get help because they're ashamed to admit they have a problem.

My brother took a of ecstasy and coke as a young man and worked in a high pressure environment. We have problems with him when he's off his meds. He's fine when he's on them.

A mate of mine was Sectioned 13 years ago when his wife ran off with some bloke. He took a load of pills and texted me to say goodbye. My wife heard the phone go off as she was late home off duty. We put his door in and got him to hospital. They put him in a secure unit and I went off to get a couple of hours kip.

Later that day I went back to see if he was doing okay. I rang the bell and a very aggressive and unhelpful nurse came to tell me that it wasn't visiting hours. She was having difficulty as there was a huge amount of noise coming from her side of the door and signs of a fight in progress. Just as she asked me.......

"Anyway, who have you come to see?"

......my mate comes into view fighting with 3 male nurses. He's a huge bloke and was holding his own very comfortably. I point at the fighting figure.......

    "I've come to see him."

"Why the **** didn't you say so? Get in here and get him to behave!"

A couple of days later the Mrs returned minus the lover and they remain married to this day.

Nine times out of ten it's men aged 30-50. Like most of us here... ...my old best friend (41) hung himself new years day. Another friend (42) did the same the year before. Another mate (44) the year before that. An old house mate threw himself in front of a train ten years ago

I've been pill free and physiotherapist free for over two years now. There's always light at the end of the tunnel

...and the top response is some Gooner bellend who, in less than fifty characters (and one emoji), justifies every single bad thing that is said about that club and their fans. Bravo, dickhead who probably cried into their Arsenal-branded cornflake bowl on Monday morning.

I have been looking for a quality version of that goal this morning
(I did find a poor TV rip with commentary on it from Arry himself :) ) .
Azza encapsulated in about 10 seconds of video. <applause>

Just for completeness, who intercepted the Zlatan pass and gave
the ball to Modric ?? Was it Sandro ??

Take a look at the starting XI + subs made :

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/9396732.stm

I doubt I will live to see a more heroic Spurs performance in UEFA land
(far better IMHO than the Bale ballistic attack in the 4-3 against Inter) .
