If there was one race that I would recommend to avoid, it would be this one. Don't waste your time. The last lap was probably the only part worth watching out of the 53.
Huge congratulation to Bottas on his race win, won it at the start and kept it together to the end. Also we mustn't forget Perez, what was that, 14 races in the points? Him and Ocon doing really well with that Force India.
Ferrari, Red Bull, and Mercedes are all bringing big updates to Barcelona. So I guess we'll see how they stack up. See if at least two of them are still evenly matched.
I've heard that Lewis had problems, but I've not seen what they were. Has anyone heard what Lewis's problems with the car was? Because his performance reminds me of Nico's last year at Monaco, just awful with talk about car problems but nothing ever said what these car problems were.
I think he just got his setup wrong and in trying to keep up over stressed the PU till it overheated. Benson wrote a big hoo haa after the race of Hamilton being lost and having no idea about why he struggled. Yet in the post race interviews he said he understood why and it started Saturday practice. Which suggests setup but is a less click baity story.
Hamilton was scrappy and Bottas had the measure and speed of him ALL weekend, not just after they went different ways on set-up. Over-heating was an issue, but I think dirty air has been one of their bugbears for a few seasons. The BBC is ****ing hilarious atm, the resident Hamelots have lost the plot completely.
He was nowhere all weekend and has admitted the same, I can't see he has come out with any excuses about it, other than the usual stuff of they are going to look into why he was slow etc etc. The beeb and Hamelots are massively overplaying the overheating thing as it didn't help his cause in the race, but I can't see it made any difference to where he finished. He didn't have the pace of the Ferrari's or Bottas at any point over the weekend, so 4th was always what he was going to get unless the others had issues.
