So the rumours are O'neill, Rosler and Monk, so it's bound to be somebody else. <laugh>

Thierry Henry has been mentioned a couple of times in the French press but it is probably the same unreliable source. I suspect that Wagner could be tempted to come if Huddersfield don't go up but that might be wishful thinking. O'Neill - No thanks but Wagner, Rosler or Monk could well push us onwards and upwards.

“I’m certainly not a mingler!” he joked. “Whether that’s with players or anyone else, that’s not my style. I have to have a relationship with the players, I have to be someone that they can trust and speak to and one thing that I always say to players or staff that I’ve ever worked with is that I’ll look you in the eye and I’ll give you an honest answer. “You might not like the answer but at least I’ll be honest with you and all I want is that back. So any player that I speak to, all I want is honesty from them and they’ll get it back.
“I’m not here to be players’ friends, I’m hopefully here to be respected by the players and the players will have the respect from myself but the difference is at the end of the day that there is a line and when you’re sat in a position like mine at Huddersfield and here, some people’s career and livelihood are in your hands a little bit and with that you have to take away a little bit of the emotion because that can cloud your decisions.

Some strong words from SW and I know I always performed better when I had a boss whom I could respect and he respected me in return.
I also like the fact that he says you ‘can’t let emotion cloud your decisions!!!!’

By strange coincidence there is an article in the local weekly talking about Lucien Favre and setting out that Nice might have a job hanging on to him as, and I quote, ' many English Clubs not currently in the Premier League would pay him more than he earns here ' Interested? Time to go - my favourite waitress has just brought my Pizza.

Been proven with the news of the players being released.

Not going to have much of an established Norwich player base anymore. Martin and Hoolahan are the only ones left who have history and love the club. A lot want them both gone too.

Could soon be a club full of foreigners we have never heard of.

I loved it when we had salt of the earth, hard working British players. Holt, Crofts, Fox, etc.

Made me so proud and excited.

I see where you're coming from FML and I have to agree with you on that. It's going to be interesting what the squad is going to look like next season.

Thankfully Monk himself has laughed at the rumour and said it won't happen! <ok>

I'm really excited about having a different looking team next season, after the removal of the old guard, you don't see too many teams hold on to a core of so many players for the length of time we have, we needed this freshen up. Good or bad, at least we will have some different players to moan about in defence :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I'd argue that maybe Howson could fit into the Martin and Hoolahan group. Players like the Murphys have been at the club a long time, obviously not the first team but they have a love for the club.

Don't really see that anythings changed with the exception of Ruddy & possibly Bennett none of those that have gone have made any real impact on this years campaign. we need to get rid of the old guard that regularly get selected to play.

Of the 7 players leaving, 5 were expected to move on. For me Bennett was a question mark - he has had multiple chances and not taken them so I can see the logic there. I like Ruddy, but saving his salary by bringing Rudd back makes sense to me and I'd include Rudd as a player with long Norwich connections. He's 'one of our own' and I'd love to see him getting his chance next season. Of the 7 players leaving, only Ruddy was often a starter, though Bennett had come into the reckoning with Klose's injury. That leaves a squad of 19 senior players (plus Andreu) and 6 young players who could feature. Other young players could come into the reckoning for cup games and the like. Given that we'll need 2 CBs, 1 LB, 1 DM (unless Thompson is considered ready), and 1 striker, that would leave a squad of 24 senior players.
