    Really?
Go through the boards (any of them) and you will find people posting stills from a slow-mo film showing a quarter inch gap between defenders foot and attackers, automatic reaction from the rest on the board...no contact the diving twat.
I don't need to tell you this Bobby, you are very balanced and know what I am getting at.

But when commuting a foul you're not attempting to con the ref. You're trying to win the ball or you're deliberately trying to stop player scoring. By diving you're trying to con the ref which is totally different.

Ive said this numerous times before. A lot of players will 'go down easily' like Suarez etc because there is enough contact for their to be a foul but not enough to make you fall over. Bit because refs don't give fouls when staying on your feet very often, players are forced to go down and it looks completely unnatural.

When Skrtel was wrestling opponents at free kicks he wasn't trying to con the ref into not realising he was fouling the opponent?

No different at all, if a defender pulls the shirt of an attacker because he is slower than him he is trying to gain an unfair advantage.
The only difference is it should be easier to spot but we all know that is not always the case.

So because one is cheating the officiator rather than cheating the game (cynical fouls and diving are illegal in both parts of the game hence fouls and potentially cards to deal with it) and whilst one is obvious and one is subtle (when done properly), one is cheating and one isn't?

They are both cheating and if we someone had telepathic ability to know both i would give both straight red card offences. As mistakes will be made and you cant really know what a person is thinking, they are both suitably rewarded with yellows.

Both are not in keeping with the game of playing football

Not at all, defenders know 90% of the time if thy commit a foul it'll be called up and if it's cynical they'll get booked because fouling is part of the game. Even if you don't try and commit a foul you will as a defender because of way game is played. A lot of fouls are accidental, but diving players k ow they are going to do it and know it's to try con the ref.

Dont understand how anyone can try and put normal fouls in same bracket bracket and trying to cheat the ref

    Committing a foul isn't.

Deliberately fouling not playing the ball is cheating

Define foul, is it miss-timing a tackle and catching the other player or deliberately pulling a shirt to slow a faster player down so you can make a tackle?
For me one is a foul, the other is deliberately trying to cheat.

Pulling the shirt is a foul

Claiming that you didn't pull the shirt is cheating

If you are not cheating you are not trying hard enough.

With a 200mil wage bill coming out of fans pockets i expect us to cheat like **** to achieve something for the year :)

    Ok sorry saint :)

I am just trying to point out diving is just the same to me as many other types of cheating that we seem to find acceptable, someone said in response to the cynical foul, yeah but you get a card for that. However if you get caught you get a card for diving.

Z is saying that shirt pulling is natural, i was/still am playing and i have never once pulled a shirt, that said i have never dived once. However i have deliberatley blocked , i have commited the cynical foul.

I have had my feet stepped on deliberatley - that is cheating but again is accepted, yes a foul will be given if spotted, but again not usually spotted. It tends to be reverse on the goalkeeper. 'Fouls' on a goalkeeper wouldnt be a foul anywhere else on the pitch. where as softer fouls are goven outside the area that would never be given in the box (ot being the exception to the rule <laugh>)

I go back to point about diving which is at present it is a part of the game, to me, personally i find shirt pulling just a snide as diving,it is literally the defenders equivalent. An attacker dives a defender pulls shirts. Until all the dark arts are irradicated may as well get on board. Jimmy was being honest, and imho pretty much spot on.

Do you think Luvas is a regular on here btw after yesterdays flop lmao
