Good weekend for us, but a bad one for the officials. There've been some really poor decisions in the games I've watched.
So impressed with what I've seen from Can tonight, he ****ing weren't happy at all with that chance we coughed up at the end - leadership qualities
Easy to say it, he's 6foot and strong, should be one of those making a difference in those situations and heading the all away. he played well tonight though. Him and Lucas were very good. Mig was solid as well
Ive always kept cool with Can, people forget how young this guy is still. looks like the injury really was affecting him - he is a real talent and just needs that set position. We don't have enough of that passion throughout the squad
Not just talking about today. Meant all season. Easy to organise in hindsight but not shown any of that leadership on the pitch at set price situations. Todays was partly down to Studge, Milner, Matip and Clyne. Studge didnnothing from throw. Made it easy for guy to throw to player then didn't close him or go with thrower, Milner didn't get out quick enough, Matip was outmuscled although the forward is a huge monster and Clyne lost concentration and didn't pick up his man (although were 2 unmarked at back so someone else left their man as well). Same thing all season it's not From the first corner/free/throw its the 2nd phase. Was same v Everton, everyone switched off after first header was one and player just had tap in. Same v Palace, missed first ball and switched off for the 2nd. Same again today.
Still has a lot to improve up on but what I like about him is that he takes on responsibility and thrives on pressure. He's been instrumental in getting these gritty wins this year.
For all that Can does well, he's still got no brain which means he makes poor decisions and thinks he's better than he is; He shouldn't be shooting from 40yards and he shouldn't be trying to do little cute footwork when he's basically just a big unit who runs through players. Another good game from him, but he needs to just stick to what he's good at.
agree with all of that - I still think it's important to see a player after the whistle still angry at that situation happening through panic rather than just celebrating the 3 points
Yup absolutely. Just as long a she's not passing the buck. Defending set pieces is a team effort not individual.
Yeah you have to be careful with just bollocking anyone cos you're angry, but I'll value his opinion forever after that goal
