I see both view points and agree all round :cheesy:

What I think is more than evident now is that help is required to get these things better than they are.

Let's say couts doesn't go down again tonight and we have an identical repeat of game last week

Then next week utd and city do same again and are awarded pens and they both win.
The knowledge that ford was morally right will not keep me comforted when that cl theme blasts out on Wednesday nights at ot and the etihad

I will be sat there (wrongly) going wtf - why did you not go down in those two games !!! To me that says something is not right in the game around this topic (and in my head <laugh>)

What about the 'cynical' foul then ?
For years it has been accepted
Neville regularly uses the term that was a good foul to give away
These fouls are thought through fouls, where as a player you actually weigh uptaking someone down - not by mistake but deliberately so the opposition do not continue in their advantageous position
Surely this has to be cheating but yet we all accept it?
I think as much as we all hate it diving is in that category now :(

So Huddersfield are going to be fined for fielding a 'weakened' team in game v Birmingham at weekend.

EFL have decided who in their squad is worthy of a first team appearance and who hasn't, while ignoring the fact that all players were named in part of their 25 man squad.

Had this few times and can't believe still have this issue, if manager wants to play X players in his squad who are the EFL to say they are weaker or not.

If they play their full first 11 and get 6 injuries, would the EFL be happy that it made the play offs unfair because Huddersfield have a lot more injuries all of a sudden?

Linesmen annoy me when they flag for fouls in the corner because there is a tiny amount of contact and they flag like a maniac as if someone has just 2 footed someone in the thigh or something. Something that wouldn't even be looked at in middle of pitch or if the defender did the same to a forward.

Especially in last few minutes when time wasting in corners, defenders get **** load of fouls for nothing in those situations.

Yet had they won no one would have said boo to a goose
    It really is disgusting
They should really concentrate on getting the England manager to pick the best team

Would need them to be actually watching the game though
I love it when it is clear the linesman has not got a scooby who had last touch so they look at the ref. Who looks back like a rabbit in headlights as if to say
Look ****wit - you are one yard away from the action and do half the running I do. I need your help on this one and you are looking at me !!!

Shirt pulling is a natural instinct and a foul is rightly gl awarded as a result. Fouls are against the rules but they will happen.

It isn't natural to fall over when not touched. It isn't natural to surround a referee and mouth abuse at him either (annoys me most).

Ban divers and give refs a mic, anyone being disrespectful gets banned too.

add the "i'm going to ignore the ball and run sideways" so the ball can trickle out for a goal kick whilst the defender , 6 foot away & getting further away from the ball, blocks the attacker from getting anywhere near the ball.

Nope...I mean if the defender makes contact with you there is realistically no way of proving it didn't make you go down...no matter how unconvincing we think it is lol..the Kane decision. (And the room for manoeuvre)

The Rashford, Sane examples can and should be dealt with under existing laws if the ref is in a position to see it ..it's a foul to make no attempt at the ball and kick another opponent or obstruct another opponent...just give the free kick the other way...don't even need a panel ...if it results in a free kick for opposition they won't bother doing it anymore..but as I say the ref has to be in a position to see it and linesman who are often in at least another angle should be given the authority to tell the ref or 'in pitch official" that they ****ed up and didn't see it as well as they did..

Cynical foul is..... a foul! and is dealt with under existing laws...it's supposed to be a yellow card or a red if stopping a goal scoring opportunity...up to ref to employ the law.. panel or video ref make the "I didn't see it" less likely.

End of day video technology be it in game or post game should only be needed if the officials didn't keep up with game and missed it (I have sympathy) or they are too cowardly to make the decision (I have no sympathy).

A video ref or post game panel have less excuse to fudge it though as we all saw it 17 times on sky....

Have to disagree. Arm on shoulder arm across is natural. I have never ever seen it natural to grab a fist full of someones shirt. And its also un natural to chop someone down from behind

Grabbing a shirt is extremely natural, it's comes from a will to win. I've done it many many times instinctively when playing. Never intentionally, just happens.

Never mentioned choping down from behind. Bit like a cynical foul, it's using the rules to your advantage. Players know they'll get booked for it but if it's malicious or in a certain area of the pitch they'll be sent off (or at least should be).

Diving cheating. It's not bending the rules, it's blatant cheating. It is only a yellow card vs goal scoring opportunity too, that's not a fair balance and players are always going to try with that scenario.

Such simple solutions would erase these issues but FIFA are only interested in money and bribes

Scotland have retro bans for dives. Don't see why can't just bring it in.

Clear dives where there is no contact only. Panel of 3 all have to agree simple.

If theres any doubt, like where there is some minimal contact and player goes down then it's nothing
