First of all, I know. Today was shockingly bad and the 'team' looked jaded against a fast, strong and buzzing Reading side. BUT, we still have 44 games left to play. We had 8 players making home debuts with another on the bench. We have a new side who need to gel and develop together and that will only come with time and confidence. Midweek is a perfect time to sort it out against Brizzle who look ****e at the moment so lets put two or three past them and start building for what will be a massive test this season. Norwich lost their first home game and did what we want to do. COYB
agreed , but the riot act needs reading to the players....no irony intended...... most these players are seasoned pro's they have to stand up and be counted ...
I agree they need a tellin off, but we can't go on with a loosing mindset from the fans as it will seep into the team. We need to stay positive and remember this is a marathon not a sprint.
Stay positive yes, realise the obvious though as it is clear as day we are garbage up front and so far very one dimensional. We cannot afford many more of these performances if we want to go up. At present we look like England in Sven s final days. Slighty clueless but lots of new players so will give them a chance. However we need width and a finisher or we'll all be pulling our hair out at the obvious again, but no excuses this time.
I dont like to knock any of our players, but i think Mills would have trouble passing water! that was one of the worse home debut's i have seen, he can only get better! imo only 2-3 players were up for it today. But still think we will be there at the end of the season! sven is the man.
So we lost, Jonathan Parr scored for Palace, created by McGivern, N'Guessan assisted Millwall's second, Fryatt got the winner for Hull, Mackail-Smith scored the winner too, not a great day for us! But on the plus side, Ben Mee gave ANOTHER penalty away!
"So we lost, Jonathan Parr scored for Palace, created by McGivern, N'Guessan assisted Millwall's second, Fryatt got the winner for Hull, Mackail-Smith scored the winner too, not a great day for us" Nick Maynard will bang a couple in as well! Not the storming of the league you all thought just yet then?
Bedford, fully agree, its glaringly obvious were lightweight upfront, bigtime, everbody knows it, but we just never seem to be able to do anything about it. Banksy, if you bother to read back over previous threads ect ect, you may be surprised to discover, that most lcfc fans are a pretty sensible bunch, who actually thought this would be a long hard season, with alot tipping WHU to stroll the league, and us playing for 2nd spot at best, with as fair a chance as anybody else for the playoffs. We do have however, like many other clubs, yourselves included by the way, have the odd idiot fans, who only see and hear what they want to, and conveniently forget the bigger picture. We were bloody awful yesterday thats for sure, and if we play as badly again on wed, you may well beat us. You can be certain of one thing tho, and that is, in football, nothing is certain. And anybody who thinks it is, is very very deluded..................
i dont know whether im just a little optimistic, but i didnt think we were actually that bad! We didnt put our chances away when we shoudl have, reading took a goal they really shouldnt have, and only scored another late one as we had so many pushed up.
Sandiacre, its nice to hear your not all completely deluded, cos quite a few of you were getting way ahead of yourselves on the threads I was reading on our board. To be honest with the money you have spent you should be looking to finish in the top 2 and perhaps this loss may be a good thing in the big picture. You aint gonna just turn up and win this league mate. Btw, you can have Maynard now, we need the money more than we need him! Ironically, if he plays really well against you we will know he is looking for a move, I predict he will score.
Oh no, you had your chance and made your choice, now Sven's moved on and you're in the **** I hope he stays with you and sulks all season, whilst you contemplate how you should have taken the money
banksy im absolutely convinced Maynard will score against us if he plays, the irony is just too great to ignore lol. Now dont get me wrong, i would take Maynard if he was available, god alone knows he would be better than anything we've got now, but i really do believe he is over priced at 5 mil +, having said that we're running out of options, and i'm getting very very very frustrated with it all.................
