Does anybody else have any set rituals they stick to for Saturdays, Saturday mornings in particular? I always wake up early, not sure if this is due to excitement for the football but it only seems to happen in season. Trying to pass the time up until kick off is growing more and more tedious. I would watch some Soccer AM and Take It Like A Fan, cook a fry and clean up. Does anybody else have this problem? Its torture!

Provided I'm not over for a game and provided of course we aren't on tv the only way I can follow the match is on the Saints Player, which I do every week. I watch Soccer Saturday with the volume down and listen to the Saints on the radio so its not exactly suited for getting all the lads round for a feed of drink and craic.

See I'm in Belfast, if I could get over to every game I would and that would cut out those few hours of wondering what to do with my time because I would be drinking and flying! Hoping for 3 matches this season, Boro at home, Forest away and Pompey in April.

When we go over we stay in the Premier Inn near the stadium, you can see the ground from the window of the hotel room which is nice. Our flight it at 6.50am and we arrive at our hotel from the airport at about 9. We usually then go for a fry in a small cafe on Northam Road, the name escapes me but its about 3 minutes walk from the King Alfred. Few beers with breakfast, up to mull around the stadium a bit while its quiet and get a few pics, have a look round the shop, back to the King Alfred to get the drink on then head to the match. Usually pretty far on by kick off, not for everyone but its part of the craic for us making the trip over. Flight home is on Sunday night so we dander around town drinking and eating on the Sunday trying to sort the hangover out before we fly. After the match is a blur lol, usually end up in Junk until about 3am on the tail end of about 15 hours drinking.

Wake up at around 10, get dressed and leave for the two hour drive to Southampton. Usually not hungry due to nerves.

    My matchdays go like this.

wake up with a hangover from hell from the night before (being friday if the games on a sat)
so i get up around 9 have a shower. watch a bit of tv, see the days sport. head off to londis in my village at around 10:50to pick up a 6 pack of fosters for my short train trip, board the train at 11:15 when it gets to southampton, off to mcdonalds (near toys r us) very rare i head for west quey, as i feel sick as walking around in that oven. after mcdonalds i head straight for the king alfred, and i stay there untill about 2:30 then head down to st marys, for another pint, and place my bets.

Wish to God I lived on the main land. It has crossed my mind more than once to move to Southampton for a year...I would need some savings first though and a job more importantly. My drinking and revelry surrounding the football would spiral out of control no doubt. Its taken over my life and thats from here in Belfast! Err COYR
