    Hold onto your horses kiddo.

I think it was a penalty yesterday. I don't think Harry Kane dived. He just employed the same sort of tactics that Vardy did to great effect all season last year. He waited for the defender to make a lazy mistake and capitalised. He went over the foot of Gabriel and, despite the contact not being enough to knock him over, he went down. Penalty.

I'll spend 10 minutes trying to find the match threads from last season. Not going to waste my bank holiday monday wasting my time on it mind.

Gabriel clearly kicks Kane, though. That's not the same as Vardy's many clear dives.
The difference with the Monreal one is that the defender doesn't make any initial contact.
Vardy exaggerates and makes no attempt to avoid it, but I don't think that he can get past him without being caught. It's a penalty.
The dive accusations are based on previous, blatant ones and the fact that he does play it up.

Of course I wouldn't be happy but It would still be a penalty. I'd be furious though if it was like the one awarded to Liverpool earlier in the season for no touch on Firmino that was outside the box, just. That was a clear dive and the referee bought it. As many have said, video evidence is now so quickly available that the time taken to review it is less than the time taken up with the protestations of innocence and/.or guilt, that it would not slow the game at all. It would also save many unnecessary yellow cards for dissent as players know that tha facts have seen and evaluated properly. If there is any doubt at all the penalty should not be given. I won't hold my breath waiting for football to get into the twentyfirst century, but if poorer sports, in financial terms, can use the technology why can't the richest sport in the world do so.

I see no reason why Vardy would be called a cheat by me unless he had cheated.

Vardy is a diver full stop.

Kane was fouled yesterday, Gabriel hits in his even though Harold then proceeds to flop to show he's been fouled (guess you could say it was a sort of dive).

I actually didn't think Sanes was that bad. Not like he changed direction or anything ala Birdshit Young.

Rashfords was the worse dive yesterday

I thought San'd was pathetic. He just kind of leant into the defender and then flopped over.

Ridiculous penalty decision. And as was said on MOTD last night, there should be retrospective action.

Only saw this one, in real time and even on replay de roon and sane come together. No way is sane going to change direction without replanting his feet after kicking it and by his next step de roon has taken out one of his legs. Wouldn't have given a pen though. I would have said the exaggerated flop was as bad as Kanes.

The video is even entitled Sane dive!

He deliberately initiated the contact by veering into the defender.

in what way has he veered into him. He's running, kicks the ball, plants his foot and then the next step contacts into de roons leg. He's hasn't changed direction and after kicking it i dont think even messi would have been able to change into a 90 degree angle

Messi usually doesn't bother changing direction. He knows he is always going to get the penalty, Sometimes he doesn't even need to be in the penalty area. The best view is not in that clip but shows Sane clearly jumping into de Roon.

For me, he clearly initiates the contact. It was a pure dive.

Someone said theres a better angle of it but guess we will just agree to disagree. Having played footie in real life and you see it on tv all the time when you are running at full speed and kicking the ball its very hard to adjust from running in the same direction (players going into hoardings from a cross).

For me his nomentum takes him into de roon

I've played as well. Like 99% of people who've seen that several times, I'm 100% convinced that Sane initiated the contact and then flopped over looking for the pen.

He mugged the ref off who never had a decent view of it anyway.

    It's a shame the **** doesn't get done retrospectively.

I've barely dabbed the water with my bait and already I've got a couple of tiddlers snapping at the hook!

I might net you two and use you as live bait for later.
