Poor Ty is almost in tears. Someone pop round his flat in the morning, make sure he hasn't hung himself with the wire of his official headphones.

The man is right, one year does not make a power shift, in fact it means **** all.
Look at Leicester last season (although they have made a better fist of the CL than most), that was no power shift to the Midlands.
How do you see yourselves coping with the league and CL (plus FA and League Cup)?

I suppose someone HAS noticed! Arsenal have for 20 years had many choppers in defence while poor old Spurs kept turning out footballers. Coincidence?
They no longer field choppers and look what's happened to them!
I wonder if their manager has noticed.......?
I wrote 20 years.Actually I can recall seeing my first Arsenal chopper.Name of Alex Forbes.......and that was in the fifties.

To be fair to Leicester, they did sell their best player. The team at the top at the moment.

In answer to your question, we clearly need to build the squad to improve our standing on multiple fronts. Let's see what the window brings.

  6. Er? Hopefully as good or better than we did this year - when we were in the CL and got to the SF of the FAC...... We have been steadily improving as a club over the past few years, certainly not a one-season wonder and unless you would rather believe the false narratives of player and coach exodus, then there's no reason to think we won't cope next year. :emoticon-0148-yes:

What an atmosphere as Mr Abbot once said . The supporters were a 12th man , the plastic dodgy cash , or insipid prawn sandwich clubs could only dream of such fury , intensity and passion .
Ban Arse TV they have no place at WHL.
They bring their self promoting pantomime circus and cause tension , anger , chaos.
The police have better things to do than protect this band of cretins . Dick Emery characters for the blank generation.

    God bless
    A happy Sid .

The both of you are missing the point. Of course it doesn't mean we will necessarily finish above them every season for the next 2 decades. Similarly, the fact that we are finishing above you for the 2nd year running doesn't mean we will next season. Both Arsenal and yourselves are big enough clubs to turn things around in a relatively short space of time and reset the clock to more successful times.

What Ty fails to realise is that this is all in theory only. The sheer amount of pruning and preening needed to turn his beloved side into a force again means that a betting man will put his money on Spurs to do it again next season.

Comparing us to Leicester is just farcical, frankly. We have been there or thereabouts the top 4 for almost a decade now. Theirs literally was a flash in a pan. Our successes are the fruits of decades under ENIC, slowly inching up the table on a budget a fraction of the size of the bigger clubs. If you like Ty fail to see that, you are as blind as the ref who gave you a penalty yesterday.

We have been juggling 4 competitions since 2006. There have been ups and downs. This season with the CL was a massive learning curve, I'll admit that. But the more logical question is: how will Conte and Klopp cope next season with the added demands of European football?

ArsenalFanTV genuinely doesn't need to peddle their backsides for cash: their content is quick and cheap to make, as they just upload the interviews in full with no editing (other than slapping the channel logo on the front end), and as the channel routinely gets six-figure view numbers they're making plenty of ad revenue.

    WHL NLD.jpg
I don't often take many photos when down The Lane but considering the result, the opposition and the fact it was the last NLD at the old girl, I felt compelled to get a pano. This was taken on about 89 minutes.

I've literally skim-read all 19 pages of the thread this morning. Most have covered pretty much everything that can be said.

We controlled the game with somewhat relative ease, for me there was never really any doubt about it if truth be told, in all the years of NLD's I can truly say I felt the most comfortable in this one. We should have won at least 4-0, some unbelievable misses coupled with some fine saves by an excellent goal keeper. Arsenal didn't trouble us once, unless you include ridiculously tame efforts that Hugo could've saved while drinking a cuppa tea.

Jan was excellent, I think only just pipped by Wanyama for MOTM, the Kenyan Spaghetti Warrior was everywhere, was unlucky not to score from his long range effort, won the ball which lead to our penalty and would've had one of the assists of the season had Harry finished the chance that Vic made by running with the ball and hitting a perfect pass with the outside of his boot. I also thought Son was immense, his work rate made it tough for Oxocube and co to deal with, he looked ****ed when taken off and I'm not surprised because he really did put in a shift. All the lads were great though, Arsenal may be having a substandard season but they're still a top side and we made them look like lower league opposition.

St Arsehole's Day has been long overdue. It's a nice feeling, isn't it?

Thank you Mauricio for making this final season at The Lane a great one, wins over our three fiercest rivals and unbeaten here with just one left to go. What an incredible job this man has done. Already one of the best manager's we've ever had in my opinion, a trophy or two in the future will just rubber stamp that.

So nice of the government to mark St Arsehole's Day with a bank holiday. Nice gesture.

    Indeed.
With so few Goons likely to be working or online today, it also spares them the
Internet WUM tsunami that a normal following monday would bring.

We should also note that St Mohs day has also come on the same day,
and for two seasons in succession earlier for the Goons than for Spurs. :)

Busy weekend..havent had the chance to share the game between you lads. looking forward to reading the match thread some time today.

watched the game...proud of the team...i felt deflated after the Everton/Chelsea result. I couldn't decide whether it was just me or was the team a bit deflated the first half...Then it looks like Poch reminded them of the job i hand.

Overall it was a game we had under control and i expected us to win..it was our first real psychological test in the run in..and next week we have the chance to cut it down to 1 point. another test..they need to be up for it...or the mentality will come into question. I hope they are blocking the media out and can see the last 4 games out and dare i say it, win them all.

17 points ahead of the neighbours...lol

Since 10th December, Arsenal have been a mid table side.
    P18 W8 D2 L8 Pts 26
Fewer points than Leicester and West Ham. Only 5 more than Stoke, who have been the worst performing side in this period apart from Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
Much the same form as every team in the league apart from the top six (which includes Everton) and bottom two.
The epitome of mid table for almost five months!
