Yep, along with the Swiss woman owner, the English keeper, the Portuguese right back, the Dutch central defender, the Japanese central defender, the English right back, the Northern Irish & the Spanish & the Serbian and the English midfielders and definitely the Italian forward. Maybe we'll let the Curacao defender leave. Have I missed anyone?
Old Stockton I did say that the best performances were away from home. 17 goals in the league and 6 home wins is not acceptable. Most of the home matches have been devoid of action. I would be far more disappointed if I was a Sunderland supporter but, from the perspective of the home results, we have faired little better this season than either Sunderland or Middlesbrough. Would you genuinely be happy to see a repeat of this season(both in terms of results and style of play) in 2017/18 ?
Couldn't agree more with this - starting to really, really piss me off. Got some very spoilt fans at SMS imo, who can't take anything going against us without abuse and negativity.
We all agree with parts but it is the monontonous and continual Puel bashing of "The Frenchman" that is pathetic and annoys people. I'm beginning to find his use of that phrase offensive because of the under tone it carries.
He was on my list. The only one I ever put on it. I actually think he'd be worth a ban. Go out in a blaze.....
I would with one result change. I think we all know where that would be. This season, I have been to see us at the San Siro, beat the mighty Inter Milan at St Mary's, beat Liverpool over two legs FAIR AND SQUARE, go to Wembley to a Cup Final. We have brought through academy players. Yep I would re-run this season again.
Yawn....................... Following Fat Le Tiss's lead ? Maybe you should read my earlier posts. I have nothing against people's nationalities.
Are you seriously saying we should sack a manager, who, though he is new to English football, and though he has had a series of injuries to his squad including several vital players, still got us to a Wembley final, and got us to finish in the top half of one of the toughest leagues in the world? If that's being an apologist that's what I am, but at least I enjoy watching football, which is a physical game played by human beings, and not the theoretical computer game you obviously think it is. I'll stop there as I don't want to get involved in an argument and I certainly don't want to spend all evening reading your turgid prose, thank you.
Snap. Now I'm following your lead. Clearly only Thumwood has his own ideas and the rest of us follow someone else.
Then why mention it then? Do I say that English bloke Ian is talking crap again. Or that half Italian bloke The Second Stain is posting (Sorry SS, but couldn't think of anyone else). Every post about Puel mentions he's French. If you think he is **** at his job, it doesn't matter he is French, he is ****. I for one think he is ok at his job and happens to be French. My point was you don't mention the nationality of anyone else.
I agree these results were impressive but they were too few and far between. What we have witnessed this afternoon is, unfortunately, more typical of what fans have had to endure at St Mary's this season. I hardly recognise the style of football as what you would expect from a Southampton side. We have always banged goals in, even if we used to ship a fair number too. This season we seem incapable of finding the net at home. The excuses about injuries and forwards may have been true, but even Gabbiadini's efforts have dried up. The midfield do not contribute enough either.
Kicking him when he is down I must say that when you or anyone else describes Claude Puel as clueless then in my view it ends up cheapening and belitterling any credible criticism you give. This is a man with a distinguished playing and managerial career stretching decades at the top of French football. He has made mistakes and we can all agree on that, but he knows much more about this game than anyone on here.
