Thanks Ian. I had today's game as the most boring predictable thing I'd seen. Then I logged on Not a good game. By the way, all those bemoaning Tadic's penalty, his last one flew in the top corner. Not a bad penalty. A good safe.
I agree with parts about some of the team selections and the fact that we have been so poor at home this season, but I can't see the board firing him after one moderately successful season in charge in a new league. It's just not what they do.
If we beat Stoke and Boro, it's almost a mathematical certainty that we'll finish top ten (although based on today, those six points are far from a given). But it's far from certain that it would be sufficient to get 8th place, which is absolutely my target (and should be the target of the players and management too). We may now have to get something against one of the big boys (both to overtake WBA, and ensure that no-one from the extremely large chasing pack doesn't burst past both of us right before the finish line). Thankfully WBA have long since been on their holidays, still have to play City and Chelsea, and have three of their last four games away.
Agree with your opinion of the game. It was abject. Tadic's penalty could have been hit with more conviction . This was right in front of me but, to be honest, it was a great save. Shame that this was our first attempt on goal.
Oh dear. Puel's days are numbered? Really? Yes, today's game was very poor (and quite a few others at St Mary's haven't been great) but these can be countered by the two performances against Liverpool in the League Cup semi (Puel got his tactics spot on in both legs), the performance in the final (the board would have been delighted to get to Wembley by the way) and other games such as Sunderland away (yes I know it's Sunderland but Spurs only drew up there), Bournemouth away, West Ham away. In short, we are more suited to playing away from home. Maybe (and I know I'm going to sound like a hypocrite here for what I've said in the past) if the fans at home games actually supported the team rather than groaning loudly at every misplaced pass and every backward pass (for ****s sake that really gets on my nerves!) we would do better at home.
He's just not worth discussing things with. He made his mind up very early on. He posts the longest posts ever (well, Imps pushes him) which are purely impacting his view with zero intent on discussing. I tried many, many times to discuss things with him but he won't engage. Long posts and leaves. I also think Ian is xenophobic.
Blimey, I thought I was a miserable old git but this is a bit of 'the end of the world is nigh'. Saints have always had the ability to disappoint but we are top half finishers, cup finalists and Europa cup team. This review sounds more like a Sunderland season review. Now there is a disastrous season, with little to look forward to next season.
Ian. We are not allowed to be abusive, so I'll carefully say this. I'd be really happy if certain posters just ****ed off. Your use of that phrase is pathetic. You are an apology for a Saints fan.
Just put him on the ignore list. Otherwise you will end up getting banned and then I will have no one to argue with over referees.
