He should have shot though. Clear sight of goal from about 10 yards and tried a dinky little pass cross thing. It was a proper scoring chance.
Agree on both counts. Further evidence that there is a conspiracy to **** us over at every opportunity and get us out of the big league. On the penalty, it certainly could have been better, it was a fair ways from the corner but it wasn't a bad one, certainly good contact in the ball and an excellent save.
Wrong thread Ben for MOM!! Don't dare vote if you've not been there! Have a great hol wherever you are, unfortunately not the 3 points hoped for, but still a valuable point.
Yes. I'm very uneasy about it to be honest. I think we'll go into the last game needing to get something.
Very important point. Very consistent performance. Good seasons are made of some solid draws as today. One step at a time. Firmly. Jak was decisive today. What a save! All the defense did brilliantly to my surprise. Elmo had an excellent performance and we looked solid. MOTM - Maguire
But if you're wearing a corset, surely your sides won't split? If you're not wearing it and your sides do split, you'd be much better off just going to hospital to get them stitched up, rather than trying to force ladies' tight underwear on. Your decision, though.
He was probably thinking (albeit subconsciously) "I can do what the **** I like here, cos refs hardly ever penalise anyone for wrestling in the penalty box"...
I'm surprised people haven't commented more on the fact that Palarse are now very much back in the dog-fight to avoid relegation. Their next match is Manure 2 away, followed by us at home and then Manure away. I know it's all ifs and buts let's have a look at the situ realistically: we are on 34 points and if we beat S/land next week we are on 37. I'd expect Palarse to lose to Manure 2; hence, they are still on 38. We beat them away (tough but very possible) and we are on 40 points. Even if we lose to Spurs we stay ahead of them if they lose to Manure (away). Sorted.
I thought that the penalty was harsh and, as you suggest, was inconsistent with the way most games are governed. In addition, it was made even harsher by the fact it was the 90th minute and it was contentious. I know emotions aren't supposed to play a part, but it's as clear as **** that they do in every game. For this, the referee was exactly the same as all the other ****ty 50/50s or downright ludicrous decisions that have been given against us (especially on top of what happened last week). Not the most reliable of sources, but Robbie Savage said that we should have had a penalty for exactly the same type of foul in the corner afterwards. So, I'm still waiting for everything to even itself out as, apparently, the erudite tell us it does. Should mean I can relax during the last three games. I think we'll only be free from all this **** when some sort of computer referees games.
