They (hierarchy) should not wait until June to talk contracts with Monk. NOW IS THE TIME.

I know your on the wind up but that was a ****e finish to the season. Not monks fault though. January fiasco fully to blame. Regardless what others will say, two owners unwilling to back Monk caused this fiasco

I don't think Monk is that important to us now if I'm honest. Ideally we would keep him but for me, I would sacrifice giving him a new contract if it meant holding on to Wood and the defence.

Monk is good but has weaknesses, it's criminal we ended the season how we started it.

His signings have been hit and miss, let's remember how many players he was permitted to bring in.

Yes offer him a contract but not the end of the world if he turns it down. With Cellino going and after a season with great support we might just be a club more managers\coaches see as attractive.

That's all well and good to say, but who do you have in mind (that you think is better and that we can afford) to replace him?

No manager is without faults or has 100 percent success rate
With transfers. One thing is for sure, Monks miles the best we've had in years and I wouldn't be too confident we'll sign better for a very long time. The fiasco at the end was down to not having enough top quality to select when needed. They cost big money and generally not available on loan deals. Let's pray that rad is what many believe he is and not just another potless chancer. We will know very very soon

I'm not saying we need to, I just don't see him as being vital. Would he have been first choice at the start of the Season? How did we feel that First Division managers were turning us down?

Previous seasons it is who would be mad enough to work under Cellino keeping in mind you might be sacked within 8 weeks.

Next season it will be who wants to work under Rad for a team that just missed out and that pulled in home gates of 30,000. A team that backed their coach and allowed him to bring in 12 new faces.

If we keep Monk fine, I'm not calling for his head but if we need a new coach we are a lot more attractive now than we were 12 months ago, the calibre can now go up, no more Rosler, Hockaday or Evans although Evans did okay with what he had.

Has Monk been our best since Grayson? Yes easily but those before him weren't that hard to beat were they?

I'm concerned about Rad but with or without Monk, if Rad is a chancer it matters not. Agreed you get signings wrong but would we miss any of Monks signings that were not defenders, are any first names down on the team sheet? I'm not expecting 100% success rate but better than 50% would be good ;) <ok>

Again, I'm not calling for his head but I would prefer not to give him a three year contract either.

Sacko, Grimes, Barrow, Pedrazza, Antonsson, Roofe - Not good enough

    Hernandez, O'Kane, Bridcutt - Debatable

As Ristac said. it doesn't matter who your manager is - Cellino buys the players, Cellino picks the team.
The other Italian is only there to appease the FL while Cellino serves his ban <ok>

While Monk was backed, he was only backed to a limited level. None were big money signings and sadly, as with everything else in life, you get what you pay for. Anyway Ristac, I'm not going to let it affect my summer. I've had too many disappointments at this stage as a Leeds fan

I disagree completely. Monk goes and we end up starting again with new system and tactics. Don't think we have any real chance of keeping Bartley, Jansson or Wood with a new manager. The likes of Hernandez, Roofe, Bridcutt, O'Kane, Sacko all make for a much stronger squad which is what we need. Personally think we just need to sort out 2 out of the 3 positions behind the striker and we'll be a force next season. Maybe then just some strength in depth up front, a spare centre back and a spare fullback.

That was awful...all we needed was to be solid and compact. Tactically first half we were bloody shocking.

Sometimes you have to turn teams and unfortunately they had us sussed right from the off. We allowed them to play all of the first half in our half of the pitch.

Don't be fooled by the final result. It was one of those days if we'd conceded six there would be no complaints. Well done Rob Green for preventing that happening.

You make my point. Monk was the only coach with balls to believe he was good enough to keep his job despite a 'manager eater' in charge. So the question still stands, who do you have in mind if Monk goes? The one's that bottled it last time?

It has for us. Technically 3 weeks from now I'd expect the hierarchy to tell Monk and players exactly where they stand. How can Monk come up with a retained list if he doesn't know whether he'll still be at the club in 2 months

elland you have a short memory last season Evans had a contract till end of June and although silly nuts (Cellino) knew he was not going to keep him on he would not release Evans because he did not want to pay him off and pay wages to anybody else who came in <doh>

    expect the same <ok>
