Just to help Mick out with this particularly poor weekend thread, I am going to share with you a fun animal fact please log in to view this image
I have just been reading that Stevie G has been appointed Liverpool U18s manager and this is what he had to say... "A lot of kids think they have to do 10 lollipops or Cruyff turns to stand out. We all love a bit of skill and talent but the other side of the game is huge, it is massive" I have never heard of the term lollipop with regards to football before. Seemingly it is pretty much just a step over. When did people start calling it a lollipop?
Has the term been about for a while though? I have never heard a commentator or anybody for that matter say it I don't think.
I agree, he was very harshly treated. If my memory serves me correctly he only said, "He's what is known in some schools as a ****ing lazy thick ******." His sacking was another perfect example of loony lefties and PC gone mad imho
I've heard the goalie been called a vampire because he's afraid of crosses and the centre forward called jigsaw because he goes to pieces in the box but never heard of lollipop, hope this helps.
Will be out looking to bottle some kids tomorrow before the game then unfurl a massive banner emblazoned with a phrase from a well known terrorist group followed by sectarian chanting.
Early doors is around ages and comes from the theatre world where they would often advertise they were open "Early doors" to entice customers down to choose the better seats. That wans for free.
