Martin Hodge, "opposition analyst" has left the club. He was creditted with the preparation of players for upcoming matches and was seen as a valuable resource. Clearly this is a matter which has slipped under the radar as it is believed he left a while ago. The relevant point here is the news appears to be another piece of what made us successful has been dismantled, as I am a firm believer in any one of many sides can be successful, but it is often the unsung elements and building blocks which underpin a forward thinking strategy. I only hope this work has been picked up by someone else and these areas will continue to have sufficient resources allocated to it to ensure the club moves forward. Your thoughts are welcome.
Good point Elixir He wouldnt have gone to Cardiff perchance! Like the rest of the backroom staff that have left , I feel sure a more than adequate replacement has been or will be appointed , sometimes it is the system in place is as important as the people themselves.
Whosoever has take over has already got us a point from somewhere we failed last season, so an improvement already.
I think this is a concern - not everyone is as good as each other in the same job, even if the system is now established. Do you know when he actually left?
Stephen McGinn made reference to him during yesterday's commentary - can't remember his exact words, but he mentioned his name when talking about a training session & gave the impression that it was fairly recent.
