That assumes that we will Win all our matches. That's why the Watford match is so damn important. The most important of our season so far.They have to mirror our results provided they beat Swansea on Sunday. If they don't we finish above them.

 

Unless of course Klopp continues his fetish for losing against bottom half sides

He's right. If you don't mirror our results in the games after Swansea (assuming you win) and drop 1 point extra then the likelihood is you'll go behind us on goal difference

 

Yup, like I've said all evening. It's in our own hands, win all our games and we'll get top 4 because City, United & Arsenal won't win all there's.

I realise that this will come across as a wum, but I am quite serious. Are you really going to be happy watching this stuff for the foreseeable future because it brings in the points?
The Utd of old got far more points playing a much more entertaining brand of football.
I suppose it depends on one's reasons for watching the game, there are plenty of our own fans who think that winning by any means is all that matters - but I do expect a bit of enjoyment on the way.

 

So if we win against Swansea and go above you all we have to do is mirror your results, I can live with that.

 

Sorry to be the doom monger but City can win all theirs without affecting the others. So that's why they are favourites to get 3rd place. The 4th is between LFC, United and Arsenal. The scenario which is bad for us is United winning all their remaining 5 matches. Beating Arsenal and Spurs. Spurs can afford to lose and still remain second. Arsenal are 6 behind with 2 games in hand. They are the ones least likely to win every match.

 

To be honest I get enough enjoyment seeing Liverpool win. The problem with playing boring football isn't the winning, its when the winning stops, there's nothing to fall back on. Like if City scored in the 96th minute from Aguero's chance, what do Man Utd have to show for it? There were no signs of progress, no positives to take out of the game, it was purely about the result.

 

Not taken as a wum. The answer is yes, if your vision of "foreseeable future" is until the end of this season. I would be a little bit pissed off if it continued into next season.

Its just your fixtures Vs ours make it harder for you, in theory, to match our results. Though football isn't played on paper.

 

No idea tbf i alwys think the worst - i am just sad as we have had it within reach this season and we just seem to implode, if we miss cl it will be a disaster for us. We have gone too long without cl, not counting the one yr brendan got us

If we don't make it, we only have ourselves to blame. We looked like serious title contenders in December and we've done our best to throw it all away since.
But don't be sad before the event - it's not over just yet.

I did mention in December that title contenders is not even a thought. The season is long and anyone can have a good run the trick is to be consistent for the whole season.

Because we stupidly dropped 5 points at home to Bournemouth and Palace which seriously ****ed up our chances of getting third.

But in all seriousness - I'm happy with the city united draw last night because it does keep City in an around that dog fight. Had we won on Sunday, then yesterday would have been perfect.
