Haven't seen it, but it can't have been as good as Niang's on half time on Saturday... similarly ignored...!!
Apparently wanyama should have been off in the first half after being booked for one foul. Ref bottled it the next time. Pocchetino took him off at half time.
I think it would have been a very harsh second yellow. He slid but didn't touch him and Townsend dived over him. Similar to the penalty against Spurs at the weekend.
We haven't won away at Southampton since 1951. However on the flip side, whenever we've beat them in the home game, when played first in a season, we've only lost there once in the reverse fixture - in 1928.
I've not seen it just read the paper. But you say it was a foul, he slid in, went to ground and the ref gave it!! Do you think Hudd or N'diaye would have got away with it like a title chasing media luvvy club like Spurs player did?
He put his foot out to take the ball and Townsend jumped over him. There wasn't even any contact. If one of our players were on a yellow they wouldn't have received a second yellow either. Remember Niasse's game against United? Lucky guy not to get sent off there.
We been down since August. Moyes is a shocking manager. Hope you get something on Saturday then it be all over.
I just had a funny feeling you'd win your next 4 games, including Boro last night. You guys still worry me at our place...
I thought they'd beat Boro last night. In fact I was convinced. I'm now convinced Swansea will beat Man U on Sunday.
We can't score or defend so no chance in he'll. We haven't scored in 10 out of the last 11 games shocking.
Spurs at home to Arsenal and Chelsea going to Everton who I don't think have lost at home for a long time will make it a big weekend for the top two, both difficult games. I fancy spurs at home but Chelsea at Everton I'm not so sure. Has for us I watched Southampton the other night and thought even though they got beat 4.2 they played some very good quick passing football and we will have to defend very well to get anything. Let's hope so it would make such a difference
I was convinced that Watford would beat us... The most positive thing for me now is, every single team we play - with the unlikely yet possible exception of Spuds on the last day - literally has ****-all to play for. They are all already on the beach and the last thing any player taking to the pitch in these circumstances wants is an injury. You might not believe it, but I promise you that is their only thought for their summer holidays. So if we get in from the off at a breakneck speed and rough any of them up, I'd expect every single player to a man to roll over, without making it look like they're rolling over obvs. If I was Marco, that would be my team talk. But I'm not, and he's better than me.
I watched Spurs last night and they were quite poor. A draw would have been a fair result but for Ericksen's great goal. Could be a tough one against Arsenal on the back of two wins.
I agree it will be difficult and either game is hard to predict, palace looked the better side for periods of the game last night but spurs and Everton both have great home records, looking at the rest of both of these teams fixtures I think if Chelsea beat Everton then they will win the league and hopefully before our last game against Spurs but let's hope we beat Southampton that's our priority
