I hope we win. The very lovely Mrs Godders would be heart broken if her beloved Swans are relegated because we didn't do our bit to help save them.
I was at the last Saints-Hull game when it was 2-0 a couple of years ago, with a JWP penalty and Pelle scoring. I`ll go for s similar score this time.
Ok. So what do you do. You share the driving with a mate going to footie. He loses his licence for drink driving. You say let's get the train on his turn. He walks like a snail (no exaggeration). He moans and wants you to drive as 'It's a long walk from the station' (really?!). Good mate known him for 20 years, but is it my issue? (I could drive from Bmth but i really fancy a little drink...and I'm not as stupid as my mate ) Thoughts?
It's not such a long walk if you stop at every pub on the way. Well, it is long, but it's not so daunting.
Ok very quick follow up. I for some reason have a disabled railcard because I am partially deaf in one ear This gives my 30%+ off all rail tickets - me and one adult, but I pay about £20/year for it. So, the standard (non deaf) rail ticket is £14.40 for my mate return from Bmth to Soton. With my railcard (and that means I have to travel with him) it is £8.20. With me and the Railcard, 1st class is £15.90, so I want to go for that. He is saying he wants to pay £8.20 and go std. Do I: a) say ok b) say well if you travel alone without me as you can't drive because you're a moron and drove drunk it is £14.40 so it is costing you £1.50 more or go with the standard fare and not bother with 1st class? Basically, since I have had the railcard and due to the savings I have gone 1st class on the train all the time, as it saves me a fortune. Sounds a weird question, but I don't want to piss off a mate of over 20 years, but I also think it is my railcard so I can do what I want with it?
...unfortunately, he doesn't drink now. Technically, he wasn't drinking when he got done, but that is another story. I understand his predicament, as he is now teetotal, and am helpful to him, but I want a drink at footie
Just tell him it's the last Saturday afternoon home game of the season, and it is traditional for you to mark the occasion with belly full of light ale (or whatever. I seem to recall that you are more of a pinot grigio kind of guy?). And that having drunk your fill, you will need to travel home first class because of the risk of not getting a seat and having to cross your legs while standing up. Edit: Plus, yeah, it's your rail card.
Two 1st class return rail tickets from Bmth to Soton purchased I feel a bit cruel, as I understand his problems, and he has had enough of them. However, I really need to stop taking other peoples' problems and trying to sort them. It sounds selfish, but sometimes you have to look out for No1...or No7 in this case BTW, not Pinot Grigio, but more a Chianti or Barolo man actually
Sensible answer. Something we can all agree with. Enjoyable answer. Something that some of us would more readily agree with.
