This sounds promising "The Prem board barred Gao in February after obtaining evidence he had twice been involved in corruption cases in China, one of which ended with a senior city politician being executed by lethal injection."
They sound exciting! Bribes, corruption, lethal injections, sign them up......no idea why I was nervous about them!
Yeah I saw that Must take with a pinch of salt cos it's them but be interesting to see if any other nationals pick it up by time I get up.
Not preferred, but they have been hanging around so long it feels like we already have a bloody link to them! Hope this puts it to bed.
Doesn't exactly speak well of the exhaustive due diligence we are to have done if we had an agreement in place that the PL had to then block.
I don't think we should take this as fact. No sources/quotes etc. Could well be (probably?) a loada ****
The Sun tends to make things up, but prefers to do it in a fashion that doesn't expose themselves to libel suits. This is either true, or it's libelous and they'll get sued for millions...there's no middle ground.
Lets not get too caught up with the suns reporting on this one. This firm has many dubious outlets from borrowing to hedge-funds. Very little is known about the front of house & it comes at a time where money is being taken out of China on mass. If this dirt sticks a little, I'll be thankful....I'm not ashamed to say.
Yeah they likely wouldn't have made up the corruption part of the story, although it may be somewhat exaggerated. But they wouldn't get in trouble for linking the corruption to the takeover as that is all hearsay.
Well now I know why I felt so uneasy about this takeover bid! I know it's The Sun etc but the paragraph saying that Lander isn't the preferred bidder (may have been back in November 2016 until Kat etc found out about these things) makes me feel more positive about who else is being lined up in the coming weeks. Fingers crossed.
