I'm sorry but this is not true. HMRC only put a company into insolvency or administration if the company is unable to pay any tax due, interest and fines. There are rules about what interest and fines are due. HMRC can't make it up as they go along, they are not above the law. Rangers are a completely different situation. They were unable to pay what was due and so formed a new company (and so club in effect) to avoid having to pay the debt. That new club had to start at the bottom understandably. I can't see Newcastle not being able to pay what is due to the HMRC. It's not what fine HMRC may impose that's the real problem it's the stance of the FA and Premier League.
Aye. Generally that is the case but they can play hardball if they want to. That of course is separate from any FA punishment. We shall wait and see with that. I see Chelsea have now been raided.
The only thing I can find is in the Mirror: "HMRC officials also visited Chelsea on Wednesday, requesting information. No items were seized. It is understood there is no allegation of wrongdoing by anyone associated with the Premier League leaders. A Chelsea spokesman said: "In connection with its wider investigation, HMRC has requested certain information which the club will provide."
Any transfers between us and Chelsea or West Ham and Chelsea? Obviously there is the Atsu loan, but surely we couldn't have ****ed up a loan???
I've just heard that a possible 13 transfers between NUFC and French clubs are being investigated. They were also reported as 'undisclosed.'
Nope. From the same person that feeds me snippets within the club. The HMRC are investigating 13 transfers - Amalfitano, Cabaye, Kemen, Sissoko, Gouffran, Riviere, Thauvin, Cabella, Saivet, Debuchy, Marveaux, Mbiwa, Haidara. Interesting that they are all under the same Football Agency. This agency is under investigation by the French authorities.
I can't wait for Trading Standards to raid Sunderland and do them for counterfeit football. That said it was a very poor copy and not many bought it.
I know hindsight is always 20/20, but it is amazing how many of those players have either hardly been used or were moved on/loaned back very quickly. Doesn't look good. Doesn't Graham Carr have something dodgy in his past at Northampton too? Or am I imagining that?
