This is the key point. Ashley is cautious with money and a whiff of relegation will mean the purse strings tighter than normal. This is Rafa's way out I'm afraid.
Life isn't that kind to us. I'd literally get my arse Tattooed with 'Kiss this Lee' on and show it in Fenwicks if we managed to get rid of Penfold and Carr too. Do you think Mike will literally sack the pair of them soon to make an example in an attempt to distance club from individual?
Trouble is that those who are approached to come to join the club may now have second thoughts if their immediate future of Premiership football now ends up playing to three quarter empty grounds in the First Division.
Newcastle United will not receive any sanctions. We will not have a transfer ban, we will not be demoted or points deducted. Charnley will either fight it or he will take the wrap and Ashley will compensate him when he gets out.
Really? And what kind of bellend do you think wor Mike would replace him with? Better the devil you know, as Penfold seems to get on okay with Rafa. I don't give a monkeys chuff about Ashley or Charnley, but you cannot seperate them off from NUFC. What hurts them will ultimately hurt us, the club and all we have achieved in recent times, and that includes the best thing to happen to this club in a blue moon, namely one Mr Benitez.
I don't think Rafa is staying regardless personally. I don't think he will get the funds he wants so will be off. As for Charnley, for sure it could be a disaster replacement, but come on live a little
Sadly mate I think you're grasping at straws here. £5M is a lot of money in terms of tax avoidance, so it's not Charnley's personal wages. Most probable cause is finding ways to give cash to players or agents without having to pay tax on it - thus making our wage bill lower. If we've been busted for that we're in deep trouble. I'm devastated. I was genuinely looking forward to a fresh start in the Premiership under Rafa. Now **** knows what's going to happen. It breaks my heart to say it, but if I were Rafa I'd walk.
Funnily enough I'm about to go and have lunch with a tax lawyer who was involved in the Rangers case. I'll ask his opinion and report back.
All things said, it's the Rafa factor that worries me the most. He seems like a man of principals and l can't see him wishing to be associated with the club if there has been any wrongdoing. His task preparing for the PL is hard enough without the threat of sanctions, embargos and scandal hampering preparations and recruitment.
Do Greggs do a pasty big enough to put a file in? It might be the only way Rafa will have to get Charnley out for long enough to sign off all our new players transfer docs lol I am definitely to old for this ****.
