Michael Brown for me, can do us all a favour and retire. He kick lumps out of players, gets constantly booked, and moans all the way through the game! Howson & gradel should know better when your already on a yellow!

It wasnt the best performance today but i believe it was a lot better than the saints game. I think if we kept 11 players on the pitch this would have been the game that kicked off our season.

The defence seemed fine to me and Longeran played amazing but when we went to 9 men nobody looked like scoring. Now we have real problems to select a team on tuesday .

Lets hope we can get someone on loan before the hull game.

We Are Leeds I think it was slightly better than the Saints game, and if we had kept 11 players on the pitch I think we would have drawn as nobody looked like scoring. Boro looked just as bad as us as well.

It was a lot better because after the saints game we took away no positives and after todays game i think we can say our defence was actually decent, claytons performances are proving to be consistant and i think we have a great player in him and we have a goalkeeper who looked miles better than last week as he came out with some great saves.

Also if mccormack had more support throughout the game i think he would have got himself on the scoresheet.

I take your point, but Howson shouldn't have been booked, the 'Boro player should, and that's something IMO you just can't predict. It's easy now to say he should have come off at half time but it's much harder to make that call under pressure at the time.

Anyway, it sounds like it was an improvement on Southampton by all accounts and it seems we were edging the game whenever the numbers were equal. This defence seems worth sticking with and Lonergan seemed to do really well after our second red. Ipswich is a must win now though.

What a $hite ref, books Gradel at 7 mins for a borderline challenge (no ref unless you've practically split a player in half books someone that early) then changes from booking diving boro player to sending off Howson, uter useless, in the first half I was thinking he was the worst ref since Pompey home last season, but by the second half I realised I was wrong, he was worse than Pompey. When Leeds and Boro had equal amount of men we played better than them, fist 23 mins we were alot more dominant than them, then we get a man sent off and they start dominating, then they get a man sent off and we regain our dominance, then Howson gets sent off and the dominate pretty much the rest of the match, spot the difference. As the fans said 1-0 to the referee, Middlesbrough didn't deserve a win, they barely deserved a draw.

Ref was pathetic.. Gradel and McMahon should never have been sent off.

Chuffed with the result and thought it was deserved.

Well done to Boro and the Ref for beating 9 men!! I thought Leeds were the better team 11 v 11, 11 v 10 and 10 v 10 but lacked the cutting edge as McCormack isn't a lead striker - he kept getting knocked over and the ball came back in the Leeds half!!

The Leeds defence and Lonergan were amazing under the circumstances!! Boro didn't have many clear cut chances despite what the BBC said (13 shots on target)?? and hardly had any chances until Leeds went down to 9 men!! The Football Leauge show failed to show the Leeds effort cleared off the line.........

I seriously hope Leeds get a loan striker in as McCormack can't lead the line!

Boro didn't beat Leeds - the ref did!! Gave Leeds a free kick - 10 yards away from the incident but let the 4th official overturn his decision from 50 yards away and sent Howson off!! I didn't think it was a sending off at the time and after watching the highlights Howson didn't touch Emnes he dived like most of their players did!!

The most annoying part of the day was the bus ride back into town - the police stopped our bus and we had to wait for all of the Boro coaches to pull out and giving us s**t - smug b*****ds!!

Also the Boro fans were singing about the Leeds fan's being quiet - isn't the Riverside like a ghost town on matchdays??

    BATES OUT

Well done, but Howson shouldn't have been sent off either (Emnes dived) and it's easy to deserve a win against 9 men.

Anybody hear Moggy talking after the game. What a hypocrite, last season when boro were getting smashed he was effing blinding at the refs, giving the we have no right to get beat attitude in interviews. Yet our manager backed moggy and his players for the stupid refereeing decisions! He comes out with, **** happens and we got the 3 points! Some managers are pricks and he's ****ing 1 of them!

Some of you lads aren't half moaners. We've come away with the 3 points and it was deserved. It wasn't one of our better performances either but I'm delighted we've won obviously. Yes you were the better side at 11 vs 11. But that was the first twenty minutes.. you were the home side and had the crowd behind you in a semi-derby match.. it's to be expected. I thought we did well to weather the storm and we more than likely would have got going later in the match like we tend to do.

Move on, look forward to your next match. New Years Day we were the better side but only came away with one point and it could have easily been none if one of your players (can't remember who) would have scored that diving header. If a combination of Boyd or Hoyte would have stuck the ball in the back of the net in stoppage time we would have won 2-0 but Boyd/Hoyte totally fluffed their chances, you lot broke and scored as a result. It's all ifs and buts though isn't it? Exactly like yesterday's match... all ifs and buts.. You can only beat what is put in front of you and that we did.

Even if Emnes did dive, which I'm not sure if he has or not, I'll have to see the replay.. he would have been through on goal and in his current form, more than likely would have scored so I'm not sure why he would have just gone down.. he had Howson beat.

Even if Marvin did dive, that hasn't taken away from everything else I just wrote.. Chin up lads, once you get your strikers back I'm sure you'll be up there challenging for a playoff spot. Hopefully we will be too.

If you can only beat the current leeds team 1-0 when we are down to nine players it won't be the top end we are battling for position with you over.

Ristac, saw your post re taking O'Dea off & putting White on as a wing back,& replacing Howson with Nunez...made sense at the time & I don't know why Grayson didn't do it.
    Great shout mate.

    Wanna job?
