Goes back way further than Rodgers. Rafa was last manager to have a really strong team with quality players all over the pitch. Reina, Carra, Hyypia, Hamann, Mash. Alonso, Gerrard, Torres. That was last time we had a decent spine to our team. Since then under H&G we failed to invest and build while our competition got stronger. If city and Spurs were still the same team as 10-15 years ago wouldn't be a problem but they both invested huge amounts and improved massively and we are now not only competing with the usual 3 but it's now 5, all for the same players and unfortunately we can't compete with mega rich for wages and others for location.
Surely the manager now has to come under serious question, you've had a fraction of the games to play in comparison to all the teams around you, and yet your still limping towards the line in the race for top 4, and it is now effectively out of your own hands. Look how Chelsea are doing with no European football as a distraction, and even look how Brendan Rodgers did for you when you had no European games? You'll be lucky to finish in the top half next season with the extra games you'll have wether it be CL or EL. Klopp come with this high reputation, but so far has failed miserably to improve your team. It makes it all the more laughable aswell that Benteke a player he sold did the damage today. I'm pretty sure Crystal Palace and any sane manager would rather have him upfront than Origi, who couldn't hit a barn door

You could understand if they had another quality player upfront, but they have Origi playing and an over the hill sick note as super sub. What's even funnier, is most scousers have actually been brainwashed into believing Klopp is a world class coach, and they actually think he's doing a good job
